8 PREPARATION INSTALLING BATTERIES/SETUP You need eight AAA batteri es (not supplied) to power the syst em. For the longes t operation and best performan ce, we recomm end alkal ine b att er ies, suc h as Radi oShack Cat. No . 23-558 . 18 OPERAT ION RECEIVING CALLS Call er ID is a ser vice provi ded by you r telephone company . When y ou subscr ibe to th is servic e, the t eleph one company sends t he caller ’s tel ephone num ber (and name, if availa ble ) and the call ’s date and t ime between the f irst and sec ond rin gs.

23 USING CALLBACK To dial the phone number in the l ast (or cur rently) displ ayed ca ll recor d, press CALLBACK .
