8 Need Help? Call 1-8 00-598- 2527 Type B Switch T e st Use the me t er or t est light to find a point on the fuse block that pro- vides a con stant source of +12 volts. T ouch one lead t o that po int on the fuse blo ck, and t he other lead to one o f t he c o ntrol wi res.
Need Hel p? Cal l 1-800- 598-252 7 9 2. T ouch you r meter or test light’s positive lead to a point o n the fuse b lock that has constant 12 volts. Us e the other le ad to probe the control wire. Then open the door . If the test lig ht turns on or the m eter indicates 12 volts, your vehicle ha s negat ive-switched door s witches.
10 Need Help? Call 1-8 00-598- 2527 5. T urn off the e ngine. Then cut the wire at a point where the r e are at least several inches of wire on each sid e of the cut .

In addi ti o n to constant 12 v olts, the system needs a source of power that is on only whe n the ignition is on (usually referred t o as ignition power).

For t he best re- sults, the location should meet the fol- lowing condition s. • The mounting location shou ld be solid and have n o mechanism s or moving parts on its ot her side.
14 Need Help? Call 1-8 00-598- 2527 MOUNTING AN D CONNECTING THE ANTI- CARJACKING SWITCH Select a location for t he anti-carjack- ing switch. You should be able to reach the switch whe n sitting in the driver’s sea t, but the switch s hould be hard to find.

Use a wire tie to secure the mod- ule to a nonmoving part under t he dash . CONNECT ING TO POWER DOO R LOCKS If you have Type C door locks, call 1- 800-598-2527 for addition al informa- tion.
