6 INSTALLA TION MOUNTING THE P HONE You ca n pl ace t he E T-111 1’s base on a desk or t able, mou nt it on a standar d wall plate , or mount it directly on a wal l.
7 4. Route the ada pter ’s cord through the strain r elief slot on the botto m of the base. 5. Plug the ada pter in to a stan dard AC outlet . 6. Lift the base’s antenn a to a vertical position .
8 2. Plug one end of th e suppl ied long modula r cord in to t he TEL LINE ja ck on the bac k of the ba se. 3. Route the adapte r and modu lar cords t hrough the grooves on the bottom of th e base . 4. Align the bas e’s keyhole s lots with the mount ing screw s and slid e the base down ward to se cure it .
9 Important: Be sure the b attery pack i s properly connected befo re you try to charge i t. The CHARG E/INUSE i ndica- tor ligh ts when the h andse t is on the base, eve n if the batt ery pack i s not con- nected.

11 Follow these steps to t urn the Caller ID/ Call Waitin g feature on or off. 1. Lift the handset and press FUNC- TION . 2. Pre ss to move th e cursor to CIDCW (Caller ID /Call Waiting). 3. Press SELECT to change the Caller ID/Call Wa iting setti ng.
12 T EL EPH ONE O PER ATI ON MAKING AND RECEIVING CALLS To make a call, li ft the hands et and press TA L K (t he CHARG E/IN USE in di- cator on the base l ights), then dial the number. Y ou view the number as yo u di- al, then (after a few secon ds) the call’s elapsed tim e.

USING T ONE SERVICES ON A PULS E LINE Some spec ial servi ces, such a s bank- by-phon e, require tone si gnals. I f you have pul se dial ing, you can sti ll use these spe cial tone ser vices by fo llowing thes e s tep s.

15 For each s tored numbe r, write t he per- son’s o r compa ny’s na me next to the ap - propriate l ocation num ber on the supplie d memor y directory sticker. Pe el the backi ng from the sticker an d attach it to the phon e as show n. To re place a stored n umber, simply store a new on e in its pla ce.
16 To view the sto red phone number s, press . An a rrow to the right of the number m eans it i s longe r than 14 digits. Press again to view the rest of the number. Rep eatedly press to r eturn to the n ame disp lay. To exit the mem ory numbe r list, press MEM .

18 CALLER ID OPERAT ION If you s ubscribe to Caller ID servic e from your ph one comp any, the phone co mpa- ny sends informa tion about t he call, a s well as th e time an d date , between the first an d second rings of ev ery call you rece ive.
