5 PREPARATION INSTALLING THE BATTERI ES Your clo ck requires two AAA batteries (not suppl ied) for power. For the best perf ormance and longest life, we recomme nd Ra- dioShac k alkali ne batterie s. Cautions : • Use on ly fresh b atteries of the required si z e and recom - mended type .

7 The cloc k has not re ceiv ed a radio si gnal strong e nough to set the date and time within the last 96 hours . 9 MOUNTING THE CLOCK You can pla ce the cl ock on any flat surface s uch as a desk , shelf, or table, o r moun t it on a wall us ing hook -and-loop tape (not sup plied). Selecting a Locati on Choos e a locat ion indo ors near a win dow to moun t the cloc k, so you ca n moun t the a ntenna near th e win dow.
10 To plac e th e c loc k o n a fla t su rface, turn the bas e o n th e bo tto m of th e clock c lockwi se until it st ops, then plac e the clo ck on th e surf ace. To mou nt the clock o n a wa ll using hook -and-loop tape (not suppli ed), fol low thes e steps.
11 Mounting the Antenna After you hav e found th e best location fo r receptio n (see “Plac- ing the An tenna” o n Page 8), attach the antenn a to the mou nt- ing surfa ce using th e supplie d doubl e-sided ta pe or hook-an d- loop tap e (not sup plied) .
12 OPERA TION To sw itch betw een vi ewing t he se conds di splay and the day of the we ek, press MODE/ SET . To swit ch betw een viewin g the month/d ate and th e alarm time , press ALARM ST OP/ALARM SET . Note: After the clock succ essfull y receives a good sign al, appears for about 96 hours.

14 After 2 min utes, the a larm turns off automat ically. T he first tim e this happ ens, the sn ooze feature activates and continues to flash. In ab out 8 minutes , the alarm sou nds again.

18 RESETTING THE CLOCK If the clo ck stops operating p roperly or locks u p, you can reset it. To rese t the clock , use a point ed obje ct such as a straight- ened pa per cli p to press RESET on the ba ck of the clock. All disp lay se gments b riefly a ppear, then the clo ck starts to scan fo r a radio s ignal.
