2 POWER I NG YO UR LAP T OP I NSTALLING B ATTERIES Your laptop requires four AA bat teries (not supplied, availabl e at Radio Shack) fo r power. Ô 1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to lo osen the screw from the battery compartme nt cover. 2. Install the batt eries as indicated b y the polarity symbol s ( + and – ) ma rked i nside .
3 OPERATIO N O PENI NG THE C OVER Place the laptop on a flat surface and press the release buttons to unlock and lift the cover. When you finish using the laptop, fold the cover down until it locks in to place. T URNIN G THE L APTOP O N AND O FF 1. Press ON / MOD E to turn on the laptop.
4 S CORING Every time you answer a question correctly, an animat ed character a ppears and co ngratulate s you. If you answer incorrectly, a low tone sounds, and you are prompted to try again. If yo u get the wrong ans wer a secon d time, a low tone so undsand displays th e correct answer.
5 2. Press 3 , EN TER to start Activity 3. A picture and a scrambled w ord associa ted with that pic ture appear. 3. Move th e cursor to the first letter o f the w ord. Then press ENTER or click the mo use. The selected letter moves to the firs t letter of the sec ond row.
