4 Your TRC-235 might caus e TV or radi o int erference even when it i s operatin g proper ly. To det ermine whet her your TRC-235 is caus ing t he interf erence, turn off your T RC-235. I f t he i nterfer ence goes away, yo ur TRC-235 is c ausing i t.

6 POWERING THE CB You can power your TRC-235 from any of these s ources: • Eight AA alkal ine batteri es (not sup- pli ed) with two du m my batt eries (supp lied) • T en rechar geable AA ni ckel- .

12 4. When char ging is compl ete, unp lug the bat tery charger’ s plu g from th e AC outl et. Then, di sconnect the bat- ter y charger’s bar rel plug fr om the POWE R jack. Note: You can use an ex terna l char ger (such as C at. No. 23-13 4, n ot s up- plied) to rech arge the nicke l-ca dm i u m batt eries .

H owever , the walkie-t alkie’ s EXT ANTENNA ja ck makes it easy t o connec t other types of an tennas, too. Fo r mo bile or base sta tion use, you m ight want to connect an opti onal ex ternal ant enna.

19 T RANSMITTING 1. Follo w Steps 1– 5 in “ Receiving Tr ansmissi ons an d Adjus ting Squelch” on Page 17. 2. Hold t he TRC-235 2 to 3 inches f rom your mou th. Hold down PUSH TO TA L K on t he side of the TRC- 235 and speak i n a normal v oice in to the microph one.

You can add two mor e crys tals in c hannel po siti ons B and C s o you can use any two ot her cha nnels of the 40 allott ed to CBs.

26 3. Set CHANNE L to A , sl ide your thumb under th e rig ht edge of CHANNE L , then car efu lly pull CHANNEL up t o rem ov e it . 4. Use a Phi lli ps s crew driver to remov e the back cover ’ s three scr ews. Cauti on: The BA TT TES T butto n might come o ff of the fr ont of th e TRC-235 when you remov e the front cover .
27 6. Insert a new mat ched pa ir of crystal s (send and rece ive) in to the sockets for Channel B or C. The sock ets for the cr ystal s are marked ne xt to Channel A on th e cir - cuit bo ard with X1 (r eceive) and X2 (tra nsmit). Th e channel ’s l etter ( A, B, or C) is mar ked on the circ uit board and on the diag ram below .
