9 Setup DC5V Insert power adapter plug (optional) Navigate menus and Electronic Program Guide (EPG). Change the volume. Menu Access/exit the settings menu. Confirm selections. Display channel information. CH+/ CH– Navigate menus and EPG.
10 Setup Powering Y our TV Install Batteries 1. Slide open the bat ter y compartment door . 2. Insert four alkaline bat teries (not included) into the bat ter y compartment with correct polarity (+ and –) as mark ed inside the compartment 3. Close the bat ter y compartment door .
11 Setup Using an AC or Car Power Adapter (optional) T o pow er your TV with an A C or car power adapter (neither included), make sure y our adapter has the following specifications: Tip Size: 2.8mm Tip P olarity: P ositive (+) Output V olt age: 5V , Current Rating: 1A 1.
12 Setup Using the Antenna F ully extend the built-in antenna f or best signal reception. There might be no signal or a w eak signal if: Buildings or trees are bloc king the transmit ting tow er . It is snowing or raining hea vily . Y ou are walking, running, or moving with the TV .
13 Operation Menu Operation 1. Slide the POWER switc h on the bac k of the TV to ON . 2. Press to access the main menu. 3. Use the navigation but tons CH+ , CH– , , to select one of six submenus: A uto Sear ch , Quick Sear ch , Channel Hop , EPG , Channel Edit , Functions (e xplained on page 1 6).
14 Operation Quick Search If you kno w the RF c hannel number , you can access it quic kly . Visit AntennaW eb.org and follow the “Choose an antenna” instructions to find a list of RF c hannel numbers in your area. 1. Select Quick Searc h from the main menu.
15 Operation Channel Hop Once c hannels are activated in the “Channel Edit” menu, they appear in the “Channel Hop” menu. 1. Select Channel Hop from the main menu. 2. Use the but tons CH+ , CH– to mov e up/ down and , to t urn pages, then press to select the desired c hannel.
16 Operation Functions Y ou can customize many TV functions, as indicated in the F unctions table below . 1. Select Functions from the main menu. 2. Use CH+ , CH– to scroll through the submenus. 3. Press to enter specific set tings in eac h submenu.
17 Operation Aspect Ratio Select A uto , 16:9 , 4:3, Zoom1, or Zoom2 . A uto def aults to original broadcast format in Digital mode. 16:9 stretc hes the picture to fill the screen, sometimes resulting in distortion. 4:3 shrinks the picture and adds blac k bars on the sides Zoom1, Zoom2 of f ers two lev els of zoom to enlarge details for viewing.
18 Operation Closed Caption Select a caption option: CS 1 -6 , CC 1 -4 , TEXT 1 -4 , or Of f . n Note: CS 1 -6 available only in Digital mode. Max Bat tery When operating the TV on bat ter y pow er , you can turn the Max Batt ery function on/of f .
19 Operation Menu Edit Set the order of the F unctions list: Nor mal – default menu order . A uto – the list memoriz es and automatically modifies the order according to how frequently y ou use selected functions. Manual – This allo ws you to customise by rer ranging the order and removing functions.
20 Operation Manually Editing Menus Menu Edit allows y ou to customize the F unctions list by rerranging the order and remo ving unw anted functions. 1. Select Menu Edit from the Functions menu. 2. Press to enter the submenu, and use CH+ , CH– to select Manual .
21 Operation V iewing Curr ent Channel Information 1. T o vie w the information window , press while vie wing a program. 2. Press again to hide the information windo w , or wait 5 minutes.
