The Sterilight unit generates ozone from surrounding air . Locate the unit in an area where the air is breathable and free from dust or fumes.
6 OPERA TION Prior to drinking wat er from the unit, ush unit for ve minutes . T o op erat e the unit, s imply turn on the c old water fauc et and pull the div er ter valv e plunger outward ( Figure 1 1 ) . T o bypas s the unit, pus h the diverter valv e inward.
7 PLEASE NO TE THE FOLL OWING 1 . The Sterilig ht unit is NOT designe d to operate wit h hot water . Run only coo l tap water thr ough the u nit. 2. The ultra violet lamp in the un it has a useful lif e of 1 0,00 0 on- of f c yc les or more. One cycle c ould be a small cu p of water or a lar ge pitcher .

10 It is EX TREMEL Y IMPORT ANT that the unit be unplugged before ser vicing. The Sterilight Point-of-use unit c ontains a high intensit y ultraviolet lamp that can damage tissues in the ey e. The UV wavelengths c annot travel through the plastic housing.
