9 AUS Pride LX Series/RevC/Apr03 St ationary Obstacles (S tep s, Kerbs, etc.) Proceed with extreme caution when driving near raised surfaces, unprotected ledges and/or drop-offs (kerbs, porches, stairs, etc.). The correct method for approaching a kerb is illustrated in figure 2.

If it is absolutely necessary to reach, lean, or bend while seated on your power chair , it is important to maintain a stable center of gravity and keep the power chair from tipping.

21 AUS Pride LX Series/RevC/Apr03 After you have used your Pride LX for an extended period of time, you may find the need to make some adjustments to increase your comfort. Y ou can change the armrest height, the swing-away footrest length, the controller position, or the seatback height.
22 www .pridemobility .com AUS Pride LX Series/RevC/Apr03 Seatback Height Y ou can change the seatback height in 2.54-cm. increments. There are five different height adjustment holes. T o change the seatback height: 1. Use a 4-mm hex key to remove the screws that attach the canes to the frame.

Since they are sealed, there is no need to check the electrolyte (fluid) level. Deep-cycle batteries are designed to handle a deep dischar ge.

27 AUS Pride LX Series/RevC/Apr03 VIII. OPERA TION DYNAMIC DL-50 CONTROLLER The DL-50 electronic controller is an integral electronic controller . All of the electronics necessary to operate the power chair are contained in one module. See figure 28. The DL-50 consists of: 1 .

OPERA TION Off-board Charger/Programming Socket Y our DL-50 may have a 3-pin socket on the front which enables you to use an off-board battery charger . The socket may also be used for reprogramming the controller by using a programmer , should this be necessary .
29 AUS Pride LX Series/RevC/Apr03 VIII. OPERA TION Fault Codes The system status LED is displayed within the on/off k ey . This LED is lit if the system is turned on. It also flashes in groups called flash codes, to indicate system faults. The table below identifies the individual fault codes.

31 AUS Pride LX Series/RevC/Apr03 IX. CARE AND MAINTENANCE n Ensure that all parts of the controller system are securely fastened to your power chair . Do not overtighten any screws. n Check for proper tyre inflation. There should be 2-2.4 bar/30 35 psi in each pneumatic tyre.

If necessary , contact your authorised Pride Provider . When calling, have the model number , serial number , nature of the problem, and the trouble code if available.
