Removal of grounding prong can create elec trical hazard. If necessary, properly install an approved 3-pronged adapter to an el ectrical outlet having 2-pronged plug access.

Keep in mind that the maximum weight capacity inc ludes the combined wei ght of the user and any accessories mounted to the power chair.

Do not attempt to negotiate o bstacles with the seat in a reclined position unless an at tendant is present to help stab ilize the chair.

Select Traveller www.pridemobility.com 17 III. YOUR POWER CHAIR THE SELECT TRAVELLER The Select Traveller has two main assemblies: the seat assembly and the power base assembly. See figure 5. Typically, the seat assembly includes the armrests, seatback, a nd seat base.
18 www.pridemobility.com Select Traveller III. YOUR POWER CHAIR Electrical Components The electrical components are located on the power base. Th e main circuit breaker is located toward the rear of the power base. The controller connector is located on the rear of the power base.
Select Traveller www.pridemobility.com 19 Manual Freewheel Levers The power chair has a manua l freewheel lever on each mo tor. Manual freewheel leve rs enable you to disengage the drive motors in order to push the chair.
20 www.pridemobility.com Select Traveller INITIAL ASSEMBLY Your power chair may require some assembly either before initial use or after trans portation.
Select Traveller www.pridemobility.com 21 Seat Installation It may be necessary to install the seat either prior to initial operation or after tr ansporting your power chair. The seat is attached to the power base by a height- adjustable seat pedestal.

COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS After becoming familiar with your power chair’s operation, you may find th e need to make some adjustments to increase your comfort, such as seat he ight, armrest width, foot platform de pth, and controller position.

24 www.pridemobility.com Select Traveller V. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS To change the controller position: 1. Unplug the controller connector from the power base. 2. Cut the wire tie(s) secu ring the controller harness to the armrest. 3. Flip up the armrest an d loosen the setscrew.
Select Traveller www.pridemobility.com 25 BATTERIES AND CHARGING Your power chair uses two l ong-lasting, 12-volt, deep-cycle batteries. These batteries are sealed and maintenance free. Since they are sealed, there is no need to check the electrolyte (fluid) level.
26 www.pridemobility.com Select Traveller VI. BATTERIES AND CHARGING To charge the batteries using the off-board charger: 1. Position the front of your power chair next to a standard electrical outlet. 2. Be certain the controller power is turned off and the free- wheel levers are in the e ngaged position.
Select Traveller www.pridemobility.com 27 Daily Use If you use your power chair on a daily basis, charge the batteries as soon as you are finish ed using your power chair. Your power chair will be rea dy each morning to give you a full day’s service.
28 www.pridemobility.com Select Traveller VI. BATTERIES AND CHARGING How can I ensure maximum battery life? A fully charged deep-cycle battery will provide re liable performance and extended battery life. Keep your power chair’s batteries fully charged whenever possible.
Select Traveller www.pridemobility.com 29 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Your Select Traveller is a sophisticat ed power chair. Like any motorized vehicle, it re quires routine maintenance checks. You can perform some of these checks, but others require a ssistance from your authorized Pride Provider.
30 www.pridemobility.com Select Traveller All wheel bearings are prelubricated and seal ed. They require no subsequent lubrication. The body shroud has been sprayed with a clear sealant coating. You can apply a light coat of car wax to help it retain its high-gloss appearance.
