TH303 1 This thermostat has been designed to cont rol an electric heating system such as a baseboard heater , a radiant ceiling, a convector or a fan-forced heater . The thermostat CANNOT be used with: • a resistive load under 0.83 A • a resistive load over 10.
400-303-000-C 2 • T o turn the screen backlight on , press the Select button once. The backlight will remain on for 12 seconds. • T o display the setpoint temperature , press the Up or Down button once. The setpoint will be displayed for 5 seconds.

400-303-000-C 4 TURN OFF POWER OF THE HEA TING SYSTEM A T THE MAIN ELECTRICAL P ANEL TO A VOID ELECTRIC SHOCK. WA R N I N G : Instal lation must be carried out by a certified ele ctrician and must comply with national and local electrical codes. Loosen the screw holdin g the faceplate to the base.
TH303 5 Connect either one of the thermostat wir es to the heater wire and the othe r one to the po wer supply wire using solderless connectors for copper wires. NOTE : Special CO/ALR solderless connectors must be used when connecting with aluminium conductors.
400-303-000-C 6 • Install t he base onto an electrical box. • Place the FA N switch on Ye s only if the thermostat is connected to a fan-forced h eater . Otherwise leave at No . • If applicable, peel of f the protective sticker from the thermost at’s screen.
TH303 7 When you power the thermostat, the Ti me menu flashes on the screen. Set the thermostat’s clock and dat e as follows: NOTE : At any time, you can access the Tim e menu by pressing the Select button for 3 seconds and then pressing the Up button once.
400-303-000-C 8 In Automatic mode, the thermostat foll ows the programmed sch edule (see page 12). T o place the thermostat in Automat ic ( Auto ) mode: T empor ary override While the thermost at is in Automatic mode, you can pre ss the Up or Down bu tton to modif y the temperature.
TH303 9 Use the Manual mode if you wish to keep the thermostat at the same temperature indefi nitely . In this mo de, the thermostat will remain at this temperature until you press the Up or Down button to change it.
400-303-000-C 10 The Away mode can be used when you are away for an undetermined length of time. For frost protect ion while saving energy , the Away temperature is set by default at 15°C (59°F) and cannot be modified b y simply pressing the Up or Down button.
TH303 11 Use the Countd own mode if you wish to keep the sa me temperature for a predetermined length of time . The choices of countdown times ar e: 15, 30, 45 min, 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 18 hr and 1 to 14 days. At the end o f the countdown, the thermost at automatically returns to t he previous mode and uses the temperat ure programmed for that mode .
400-303-000-C 12 When placed in Automa tic mode (see page 8), the thermost at follows the programmed schedule. By default, the ther mostat is programmed with the following schedule: The schedule consists of 4 periods per day , whic h represents a typical w ork day .
TH303 13 T o modify the schedule, proceed as follows: T o sk ip a period : When the hour or the temp erature of the period is fl ashing, press t he Up and Down buttons at the same time . (Alternative ly , s et its hour bet ween 23:00 [1 1:00 PM] and 0:00 [ 12:00 AM] or its temperatu re below 5°C [41°F].
