Multi-Viscosity motor oils, like 10W 30, should not be used in an air compressor . They leave carbon deposits on critical components, thus reducing performance and compressor life.
10-ENG D27042 1. Place the air compressor on a solid, level surface. 2. Mark the surface using the holes in the air compressor feet as a template. 3. Drill holes in the surface for the concrete anchors. Install concrete anchors. 4. Line-up holes in surface with holes in air compressor feet.
11-ENG D27042 V oltage and Circuit Protection Refer to the specification chart for the voltage and minimum branch circuit requir ements. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS This product should be connected to a metallic, permanent wiring system, of an equipment-grounding terminal or lead on the product.
12-ENG D27042 Air Distribution System Risk of Bursting. Plastic or PVC pipe is not designed for use with compressed air . Regardless of its indicated pressur e rating, plastic pipe can burst from air pr essure. Use only metal pipe for air distribution lines.
13-ENG D27042 Globe V alve T ank Pressur e Gauge Safety V alve On/Auto/Off Switch Pressur e Switch T ank Pressure Gauge: The tank pressur e gauge indicates the reserve air pressur e in the tank. Globe V alve (sold separately): Opens and closes air discharge valve.
14-ENG D27042 Air Compressor Pump (not shown): Compresses air into the air tank. W orking air is not available until the compressor has raised the air tank pressur e above that requir ed at the air outlet. Drain V alve: The drain valve is located at the base of the air tank and is used to drain condensation at the end of each use.

17-ENG D27042 T o Drain T ank NOTE: Operation of the air compressor will cause condensation to build up in the air tank. Always drain tank on a washable surface or in a suitable container to prevent damaging or staining surfaces. 1. Set the On/Auto/Off lever to "Off".
18-ENG D27042 Air Filter - Inspection and Replacement Hot surfaces. Risk of burn. Compressor heads ar e exposed when filter cover is removed. Allow compressor to cool prior to servicing. Keep the air filter clean at all times. Do not operate the air compressor with the air filter removed.
19-ENG D27042 Air Compressor Pump Intake and Exhaust V alves Once a year have a T rained Service T echnician check the air compressor pump intake and exhaust valves. Inspect Air Lines and Fittings for Leaks 1. T urn air compressor of f, lock out the power supply , and relieve all air pressur e from the air tank.
20-ENG D27042 7. Clean or replace the check valve. A solvent, such as paint or varnish remover can be used to clean the check valve. 8. Apply sealant to the check valve threads. Reinstall the check valve (turn clockwise). 9. Replace the pressur e release tube.
21-ENG D27042 STORAGE Before you stor e the air compressor , make sure you do the following: 1. Review the "Maintenance" section on the preceding pages and perform scheduled maintenance as necessary . 2. Set the On/Auto/Off lever to "Off".
22-ENG D27042 TROUBLESHOOTING Performing repairs may expose voltage sour ces, moving parts or compressed air sour ces. Personal injury may occur . Prior to attempting any r epairs, unplug the air compressor and bleed off all air tank air pr essure.
23-ENG D27042 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Compressor is not supplying enough air to operate accessories. Prolonged excessive use of air . Compressor is not lar ge enough for air requir ement. Hole in hose. Check valve restricted. Air leaks. Restricted air intake filter .
24-ENG D27042 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Motor will not run. Fuse blown, circuit br eaker tripped. 1. Check fuse box for blown fuse and replace as necessary . Reset circuit breaker . Do not use a fuse or circuit br eaker with higher rating than that specified for your particular branch circuit.
25-ENG D27042 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Knocking Noise. Possible defect in safety valve. Operate safety valve manually by pulling on ring. If valve still leaks, it should be replaced. Loose pulley . Tighten pulley set screw , see Parts manual for torque specifications.
