Connecting your equipment 03 22 En FM wire antenna • Connect the FM wire antenna to the FM UNBA L 75 Ω in the same way as the AM ante nna. For best results, extend the FM antenna fully and fix to a wall or door frame . Don’t drap e loosely or leave coiled up.

The System Setup menu 07 37 En Important • Make sure the micropho ne/speakers are not moved during the Auto MCACC Setup. • Using the Auto MCACC Setup will overwrite any existing settings for the MCACC preset you select. 1 • The screen saver will automatically appear after three minutes of inactivity.
The System Setup menu 07 38 En 3 Connect the microphone to the MCACC SETUP MIC jack on the fr ont panel. Make sure there are no obstacles between the speakers and the microphone. If you have a tripo d, use it to place the microphone so that it’s about ear level at your normal listen ing position.
The System Setup menu 07 39 En You can also choose to view the settings by sele cting individual parameters from the MCACC Data Ch eck screen: • Speaker Setting – The size and number of speak ers .
The System Setup menu 07 40 En • For some o f the settings below, you’ll have to connect the setup microphone to th e front panel and place it about ear level at your normal listen ing position. Press SETUP to display the System Setup menu before you connect the microphone to this receiver.

The System Setup menu 07 47 En Manual speaker se tup This receiver all ows you to ma ke detailed sett ings to optimize the surround sound performance. You only need to make these settings once (unless you cha nge the placement of your current speaker system or add new speakers).
The System Setup menu 07 48 En • Subwoofer – LFE signals and bass frequencies of channels set to SMALL are output from the subwoofer when YES is selected.
The System Setup menu 07 49 En Important • When Speaker Distance is selected while MCACC is set to OFF , the selection screen for the M CACC memory appears. Select a memory to adjust manually. 1 Select ‘Speaker Distance’ from the Manual SP Setup menu.
Other connections 08 50 En Chapter 8: Other connections Caution • Make sure the power is switched off before making or changing the co nnections. Connecting an iPod This receiver h as a dedica ted iPod t erminal tha t will allow you to contro l playback of audi o content fro m your iPod using the controls of this receiver.

Other connections 08 52 En 1 Connect an XM Mini-Tuner t o the XM Radi o jack on the rear of this receiver. You will also need to activate the XM Radio service.

Other connections 08 59 En MULTI-ZONE listening This receiver can power up to three independent system s in separate rooms after you have made the proper MULTI- ZONE connections.
Other connections 08 60 En • Connect a TV monitor t o the MULTI-ZONE & SOURCE MONITOR OUT jacks on the rear of this receiver. You should have a pair of speakers attach ed to the surround back speaker terminals as shown below.
Other connections 08 61 En • You can’t use the iPod, HOME ME DIA GALLERY ( VSX-94TXH only ), XM and SIRIUS Radio functions simultaneously using the MULTI-Z ONE feature. 4U s e t h e MASTER VOLUME dial to adjust the volume. This is only possible if you selected th e VARIABLE volume control in ZONE Aud io Setup on page 69.
Other connections 08 62 En • Conne ct the 12 V TRIGGER jack of this recei ver to the 12 V trigg er of another compone nt. Use a cable with a mono m ini-plug on each end for the connection.
Other connections 08 63 En Using the SR+ mode with a Pioneer plasma display When connected using an SR+ ca ble, a number of features become ava ilable to make using this receiver with your Pioneer plasma display even easier. These features include: • On-screen displays when making receiver settings, such as speaker setup, MCACC setup, and so on.
Other connections 08 64 En Use a commercially-ava ilable cable to connect the RS- 232C jack on your computer to the 9-pin RS-232C jack on this receiver.
HDMI Control 09 65 En Chapter 9 HDMI Control By connecting this receiver to an HDM I Control- compatible Pioneer plasma displa y or the HDD/DVD recorder with a n HDMI cable, you can control this recei.
HDMI Control 09 66 En Setting the HDMI options You must adjust the settings of this receiver as well as HDMI Control- compatible co nnected compon ents in order to make use of the HDM I Control function. For more information see the operating instructions for each component.
Other Settings 10 67 En Chapter 10: Other Settings The Input Setup menu You only need to make settings in the Input Setup me nu if you didn’t hook up your digital equipment according to the default settings (see Input function default and possible set tings below).

Also, w hen the multi-c hannel input is selected as an input source, you can display the video images of other input sourc es. In the Multi Channe l Input Setup, you can assign a video input to the multi-channel input.
Other Settings 10 70 En 2 Select the ‘ PDP Volume Control ’ setting you want. • OFF – The receiver does not control the volume of the plasma display.

Using other functions 11 73 En Making an audio or a video recording You can make a n audio or a vi deo recordi ng from the built-i n tuner, or f rom an audio or v ideo source connected to the rec eiver (such as a C D player or TV). 1 To use this feature, you must set ZONE2/RECSEL to RECSEL in the ZONE Audio Se tup .
