About this unit Important ! Following functions cannot be operated when DVH-P7000R , DVH-P5000MP or AVH- P6500DVD is connected to this unit. Using the down-mix function Using the Dolby P ro Lo.
Precautions ! Keep this manual handy as a reference for operating procedures and precautions. ! Always keep the volume low enough so that you can hear sounds from outside the vehicle. ! Protect this unit from moisture. ! If the batter y is disconnected or dis- charged, the preset memor y will be erased and must be reprogrammed.
Head unit Operate this unit with the connected head unit. Instructions in this operation manual use AVH-P6600DVD as an example head unit. F or more details concerning operation, please refer to head unit s operation manual. 1 VOLUME Rotate it to increase or decrease the vo - lume.
Introduction of DSP adjustments 1 By carrying out the following settings/adjust- ments in the order shown, you can create a fi- nely-tuned sound field effortlessly .
# T o switch to equalizer function, press EQ and hold again. 2 Press EQ to select the desired SFC mode. Press EQ repeatedly to switch between the fol- lowing mode: MUSICAL (musical) DRAMA (drama) .
LEFT :25 RIGHT :25 is displayed as the left/ right speaker balance moves from lef t to right. Adjusting source levels SLA (source level adjustment) lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent ra- dical changes in volume when switching be- tween sources.
Using the direct control Y ou can override audio settings to check for ef- fectiveness of your audio settings. ! All audio functions are locked out when the direct control is on except VOLUME . ! If the source is a 2-channel LPCM audio or a 2-channel Dolby Digital audio and you select ON , audio is heared only over front left/right speakers.
5 T ouch to turn the panorama control on. # T o turn the panorama control off , touch . 6 T ouch and then touch or to ad- just front/surround speaker balance. Each time you touch or it moves the sound towards the front or the surrounds. +3 3 is displayed as the front/surround speaker balance moves from front to sur- rounds.
3 T ouch or to select SUB WOOFER (subwoofer). Each time you touch or selects the speaker in the following order: FRONT (front speakers) CENTER (center speaker) REAR (rear speakers) SUB WOOFER (subwoofer) PHASE (sub- woofer setting) 4 T ouch to turn subwoofer output on.
2 T ouch SP Lev. 3 T ouch or to select the speaker to be adjusted. Each time you touch or selects the speaker in the following order: FRONT -L (front speaker left) CENTER (center speaker) FRON.
Selecting the time alignment adjustment mode This function cannot be operated when DVH- P7000R, DVH-P5000MP or AVH-P6500DVD is connected to this unit. Y ou can select the time alignment adjustment mode. 1 T ouch A.MENU and DSP and then touch NEXT. 2 T ouch TIME ALIGNMENT.
! CUSTOM1 and CUSTOM2 are adjusted equalizer curves. ! When FLA T is selected no supplement or correction is made to the sound. This is useful to check the effect of the equalizer cur ves by switching alternatively between FLA T and a set equalizer curve.
8 T ouch and then touch or to se- lect the desired Q factor . Each time you touch or switches be- tween the following Q factor: WIDE (wide) NARROW (narrow) # Y ou can adjust parameters for each band of the other speakers in the same way. Note Y ou can select a center frequency for each band.
Before operating the auto T A and EQ function ! Carr y out auto T A and EQ in as quiet a place as possible, with the car engine and air conditioning switched off . Also cut power to car phones or portable telephones in the car , or remove them from the car be- fore carrying out auto T A and EQ.

Correcting distorted sound Y ou can minimize distortion that may be caused by the equalizer curve settings. Setting an equalizer level high can cause dis- tortion. If high sound is crippled or distorted, tr y switching to LOW . Norma lly , leave the set- ting at HIGH to ensure quality sound.
T roubleshooting Common Symptom Cause Action P ower doesn t turn on. No functions come on. Cables or connecto rs are not cor- rectly connected. Check whether the cables are plugged in cor- rectly and firmly. The fuse is blown. Rectify the reason for the fuse blowing, then replace the fuse.

T erms Dolby Digital Dolby Digital provides multi-channel audio from up to 5.1 independent channels. This is the same as the Dolby Digital surround sound system used in theaters. Dolby Pro Logic B Dolby P ro Logic B can create five full-band- width output channels from two-channel sources.

! Asegúrese de realizar los ajustes TA y EQ automáticos con el micrófono provisto. Si se utiliza otro micrófono es posible que no se pueda realizar la medición o que ésta sea incorrecta. ! Si el altavoz delantero no está conectado, no se podrán hacer los ajustes T A y EQ automáticos.
3 Coloque la llave de encendido del auto- móvil en ON o ACC. Si el aire acondicionado o la calefacción del automóvil está encendido, apáguelo. El ruido del ventilador del aire acondicionado o de la calefacción puede impedir que se realicen los ajustes T A y EQ automáticos correctamente.
Corrección de distorsiones del sonido Se puede reducir al mínimo la distorsión que puedan causar los ajustes de las cur vas de ecualización. Si se ajusta un nivel de ecualización alto, se puede causar distorsión. Si se altera o distor- siona el sonido alto, trate de cambiar a LOW .
Solución de problemas Comunes Síntoma Causa Acción La unidad no se enciende. Ninguna función se activa. Los cables o conectores no están conectados correctamente. Gebrauch des Equalizers Mit dem Equalizer können Sie die Entzerrung wunschgemäß an die akustischen Eigenschaf- ten des F ahrgastraums anpassen. Abrufen von Equalizer -Kurven Sieben gespeicherte Equalizer-Kur ven sind je- derzeit mühelos abrufbar .

Crossover-F requenz für die eingebaute LPF- F unktion eines aktiven Subwoofers auf den höchsten W ert eingestellt werden. ! In den nachstehend aufgeführten Fällen stimmt der von der F unktion Auto- T A und - EQ berechnete Wert für den Zeitabgleich ggf .
4 Wählen Sie die Position des Sitzes, auf dem das Mikrofon angebracht ist. Siehe Gebrauch des P ositionswählers auf Seite 50. # W enn vor dem Start der F unktion Auto- T A und -EQ keine P osition gewählt wird, wird automa- tisch die P osition FRONT -L ver wendet.
Korrigieren von verzerrten Tönen Sie können Verzerrungen, die eventuell durch die Einstellungen der Equalizer-Kurve her vor- gerufen werden, minimieren. Durch eine hohe Einstellung eines Equalizer- Pegels kann es zu V er zerrungen kommen. W enn hohe Töne abgeschnitten werden oder verzerrt klingen, wechseln Sie zu LOW .
