21 Chapter 4 OSD Operation OSD Overview The On Screen Display (OSD) is a menu d riven method to handle computer control and switchi ng operations. All pr ocedures start from the OSD Main Screen.

For example, you can rapidly switch to any port, scan selected ports only , limit the list you wish to view, designate a port as a Quick View Port, create or edit a port name, or make OSD setting adjustments.
Chapter 4. OSD Operation 25 F2 LIST This function le ts you broaden or narr ow the scope of which ports th e OSD displays (lists) on the Main Screen. Many of the OSD func tions only operate on the computers currently selected for Listing on the Main Screen with this function.

Chapter 4. OSD Operation 35 F8 LOUT Clicking the F8 field, or pressing [F8], lo gs y ou out of the OSD and blanks the Console screen. This is different from simply deactivatin g the OSD when you are at the Main Screen by pressing [Esc].

37 Chapter 5 Keyboard Operation Keyboard Port Control Keyboard port control allows you to provi de KVM focus to a particular computer using hotkey combinations from th e keyboard.
KH1508 / KH1516 User Manual 38 Selecting the Active Port Each Computer Port is assigned a Port ID (see Port ID Numbering , page 19). You can directly access an y computer on the inst allation with a hotkey combination that specifies th e Port ID of the Computer Port that the computer is connected to.

KH1508 / KH1516 User Manual 40 Skip Mode This feature allows you to switch between computers in o rder to monitor t hem manually. You can dwel l on a particular port for as long or as lit tle as you like - as opposed to Auto Scanning, whic h automatically switches after a fixed interval.
