7 1 1 1 1 Unpacking and Placement Un packi ng Pro cedu re The SXD2 is packaged for maximum protec tion. T o o pen, sit the box upr ight and cut t he rei nforced tap e at the top of the bo x. The product c an now be re moved. Pull the foam pr otecting e nd-cap s off ei ther s ide o f the unit and remove the b lack material co vering.

9 Connect compu ter to SXD 2 via USB Connect t he USB output fro m your computer to the USB inp ut at the r ear o f t he SXD2 ( the co mputer w ill automaticall y detec t a nd install the necessary drivers). Refer to Chapter 4 f or Rear Panel information.

11 4 4 4 4 Rear Panel Functions Analog Outp uts These single-ended ( RCA ) outputs provide line-level analog audio, via suitable RCA i nterco nnect cab les, to a preamplifier or integrated a mplifier. For more infor mation on ou tput speci fications, please refer to Chapter 11.
12 Note: Use a 75Ω digi tal i ntercon nect c able equipped with BNC connectors t o get the best possible digi tal performan ce. Using the supplied adaptor to convert the BNC outp ut to RCA will not degrade the signal any mo re th an if an RCA connector was fitted by de fault.

16 Block Diagram USB Connectivity The SXD2 is f ully co mpliant w ith USB 1.1 specification and utilises ‘Full Spee d’ (12Mbps) transceivers. T he bandwidth offered b y ‘Full Speed ’ USB is more t han sufficient to st rea m digital audio.
