A. Apply one piece of sill ashing tape to the sill of the existing window . Cut the tape the same length as the width of the existing window sill. Place one side of the tape against the vertical leg of the stool, and work the tape into the corner before applying to the sill.
2 PREP ARE THE OPENING (CONTINUED) POCKET REPLACEMENT D. T est t the window . e window should be approximately 1/2” smaller than the opening in both width and height. Measur e the distance between the frame and the sloped sill, this will be the height to which to cut the sill adapter .
POCKET REPLACEMENT 3C B. P lace a bead of sealant where the existing stool meets the existing frame sill and jambs. N ote: Sealant bead placement is critical to ensur e contact with replacement windo w Sill Stool 3B 3E 3F C. Place a bead of sealant where the jamb and sill meet.

5 EXTERIOR SEAL A. Place a corner bead of sealant at the jambs and head connecting the existing frame and the replacement window frame. Caution: DO NO T seal the bottom exterior to allow for incidental water to weep. 5A 1” 5B Sill 5A B. O ptional: Place a bead of sealant where the sill adapter meets the sill.
6 FIXED SASH REMOV AL (CONTINUED) FIXED WINDOW REPLACEMENT E. Apply sill ashing tape. C ut a piece of ashing tape 12" longer than the opening width. Apply at the bottom of the opening as shown (2A). Do not allo w the ashing tape to extend past the new window depth.
Sill Stool 3B 7 PREP ARE THE OPENING (CONTINUED) FIXED WINDOW REPLACEMENT D. T rim the sill adapter to the proper height by breaking o the groo ved leg at the desired dimension (see chart). Once trimmed, apply a bead of sealant to the sill adapter .

FIXED WINDOW REPLACEMENT B. A pply a bead of high quality exterior grade sealant to the head and jambs. C. Optional: Place a bead of sealant where the sill adapter meets the sill. If sealant is placed on the sill leave at least 1” of sill adapter unsealed at each end.
EXTERIOR FINISH e exterior frame and sash are protected by aluminum cladding with our tough EnduraClad ® or EnduraClad Plus baked-on factory nish that needs no painting. Clean this surface with mild soap and water . Stubborn stains and deposits may be remo ved with mineral spirits.
