10 C4659M (4/10) ACCESSING THE ENCODER AND ITS CAMERAS The first time yo u access the en coder , the live video pa ge appears. By defa ult, you are viewin g the video as a pub lic user and only have access to the single stream live view.
C4659M (4/10 ) 11 Live V ideo Page The live vide o page allows you to manage t he way you view live video an d capture im ages. Y ou can a lso view live video from thi s page and access menus o n the naviga tion bar (b ased on user p ermissions). Figure 1.
12 C4659M (4/10) LIVE VIDEO PAGE ICONS Viewable icons are based on user pe rmissions. Show Device List: Displays a list of viewable ca meras connecte d to the en coder to which y ou are logg ed on. Disable Vi ewer: Closes the live view window . 1 x 1 Mode: Displays a single video pane .

Select one of t he following stream opti ons from the Sel ect Stream page : Primary Stream: T o select this stre am, click the button next to Primary Stream . Secondary Stream: T o select this st ream, click the button next to Secondary St ream.
14 C4659M (4/10) MULTICAST A multicast tr ansmission sends data to mult iple users at the same time using one trans mission stream. E ach multicast user that connects to the encoder consu mes no additi onal processing po wer; therefo re, multicast video streams can be sent to an unlimited numbe r of simul taneous users.
C4659M (4/10 ) 15 Settings Page Depending on user permission s, the Settings page allows you to ma nage en coder system settings, set up user s and groups, and con trol the encoder an d any cameras connected to it. NOTE: The Settin gs menu migh t not be available if the user does not ha ve permission to access th is feature .
16 C4659M (4/10) System T ab Use the Syste m tab to change the device name, configure the time settings , and display system informat ion. Y ou can also use th e System tab to generate a system lo g, to reboot the encoder , or to restore the encoder’ s factor y default settings.
C4659M (4/10 ) 17 REBOOTING THE ENCODER 1. Click the System tab. 2. Click the Reboot E ncoder button to restart the encoder . Rebooting the encoder does not chang e the configured settings . RESTORING ALL DEFAULT SETTINGS This process cannot be und one; all user and custom set tings will be lost.

C4659M (4/10 ) 27 PROFILE The profile defines th e subset of bi t stream f eatures in an H.264 stre am, includin g color repr oduction a nd addition al video com pr ession. It is important that the selected profile is compa tible with the recording device so that a stream can be deco ded and viewed.
28 C4659M (4/10) SELECTING THE AUDIO CONFIGURATION SETTINGS T o use audio wit h the encod er you must h ave an audi o device conn ected to th e accessor y port locate d on the back of the en coder . Once the device is co nnected, au dio can o nly be enabled through the primary st ream.
C4659M (4/10 ) 29 Users and Groups T ab Use the Users and Grou ps tab to create and manage user accounts, gro u p permissions, and to cha nge the way the encoder manages t he user s and groups sett ings. Users User accounts can be created and a dded to groups to limit the pe rmissions given to individuals logged on to the encoder .
30 C4659M (4/10) Groups Groups can b e created to assign permis sions to user s within each group. Use th e features on the Groups page to crea te, modify , and delete groups and permissions. M ultiple permissi ons can be assigned to ea ch group. Figure 8.

Click in the Us ername box an d type a use r name (2 to 23 alphanu meric charact ers). User na mes are not case-sensiti ve and are s aved in lowercase characte rs.

34 C4659M (4/10) Events T ab Use the Events tab to pr ogram camera events and configure analytics. Events are activated b y programmed eve nt sources th at tell the de vice how to react when an event occurs. Even t handlers are the actions that the device takes when an event occurs.
