2 C2619M (8/06) Introduction The DVR5100 Series soft ware recovery disc provides option s for performing the following mainte nance on you r unit: • Recover the administrator password: Choose this option if you have forgotte n your administrato r password and need to rese t it to the original password.
C2619M (8/06 ) 3 Recovering the Administrator Password Follow these instru ctions to reset the pa ssword for the defau lt administra tor user . These instructions change the passwo rd for th e default user called admin . No other passwords ar e reset.
4 C2619M (8/06) Resetting Sy stem Configur ation to Factory Defaults Follow these instructions if you want to reset all syst em configuratio n settings to their orig inal factory d efaults. This i nclu des rese tting the passwords fo r all defaul t user accou nts.

If you choose to continue the pr ocedure, the following messag e appears on the scre en while the sys tem configur ation settin gs ar e reset to their factory defaul t settings.

If you a lso want to reset system configura tion information, refer to Resetting System Config uration an d Deleting Rec orded Video on page 9.
