Introduction 1-3 Getting S tarted To start using the prin ter, you must : 1. Review the safety information in the Regulatory Co mpliance document pr ovided with y our printer. 2. Charge the main battery. See “Chargin g the Main Battery” in Chapter 2 for more information.

Take the th in end of the safe ty strap, and p ush it th rough th e loop at the bottom of the printer hand le (near the battery compartment).
Using Batteries 2-1 USING BA TTERIES The printer use s two batterie s: a main battery and a backup battery. Battery Use Main Running the pr inter. It is also r echargeable using the Monarch 9462 single-station or the Monarch 9465 four-station charger.

Turn the printer o ver and press the button on the battery compa rtment door (at the botto m of the prin ter’s handle) and slide i t open. 2. Turn the printer up right, holding your palm beneath th e open battery compartmen t.
Using Batteries 2-3 Charging the Backup Battery The intern al backup battery is a 3.6-volt lithium- ion battery tha t maintains the printer’ s system settings. The backup battery maintains its char ge through the ma in battery or the Battery Backup Power .

Using Supplies 3-1 USING SUPPLIES The printer c an use thre e types of su pplies: ♦ Labels ♦ Tags ♦ Receipt Paper. See “Selecting th e Supply Type” in this ch apter for more info rmation. There are two pr int modes. The way you loa d the supplies depen ds on the print mode you use.
