2 Attaching the Safety Strap 1. Turn the printer upside down, resting its top in the table. 2. Remove the stylus strap from the loop. 3. Take the thin end of the safety strap, and push it through the loop at the bottom of the printer han dle (near the battery comp artment).
3 Changing the Main B attery Always take the main ba ttery out of the printer when s toring the printer and connect the Battery Backup Power. 1. Turn the printer over and press the button on the battery comp artment door (at the botto m of the pr inter’s handle) and slide it o pen.
4 Note: If the printer does not ha ve a main battery or is not connected to the Bat tery Backup Power , it loses its charge and the printer’s s ystem settings. 5. Remove the main battery from the battery compartment. 6. Connect the Battery Backup Power as shown.
5 6. Place a roll of sup ply in the supply holder so it unrolls fr om the bottom . 7. Load the supplies for the pr inting mode you want: Pe el or Non-Peel. Loading for Non-Peel Mode 1. Feed the supply under the ap plicator roller a nd over the label defl ector.
6 3. Feed all four inches of the backing pap er over the peel bar and u nder the applicator roller a nd the labe l deflector . 4. Push the label deflector up until it snaps into p lace. 5. Partially close the co ver to the first position . 6. Pull the backing paper over the guide roller, down to the pinch and feed rollers.
7 Changing the Display Settings To change the backlight, sound (bee p) and other s tandard Windows options , from the Start Menu select Settings , Control Panel . Using the Keypad The printer ’s keypad appears below . Key(s) Descript ion Enter Accepts data or a me nu selection.
8 Entering Data Entering data using the keypad is simila r to en tering data on a cell ph one. There are three data entry modes: ♦ Normal (Numeric) mode – Default . Press the key to displa y what appears on the fa ce of the key (numb ers). ♦ Lower-Case Alpha betic mode – Press Alpha once to display lower-case letters.

10 Scanner Flex Cable Adhesiv e Buildup 4. Use a dry, soft-bri stle brus h, such as a toothbr ush, to clean the pl aten roll er. 5. Turn the platen roller with your finger and then continue cle aning. 6. Reload the supplies, close the labe l deflector and supply cover .
