5 Daily Oper ation • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atures. There is a risk of an explosion! Do not stor e any containers with flamma- ble materials such as, spray cans, fir e extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the refriger ator/freezer .
6 Remove tr ansport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings are pr otected for transport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces from the interior of the appliance. Shelf holders Y our appliance is equipped with shelf retainer s that make it possible to secure the shelves during tr ansporta- tion.
7 Starting up and temper atur e regulation Wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicar- bonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre of water). Do not use soap or deter- gent as the smell may linger . Dry the appliance thoroughly .
8 Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves The glass shelf above the fruit and vegetable compartment should always remain in position, to ensur e fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer . The remaining stor age shelves can be adjusted to various heights: Pull the storage shelf forwar d until it can be tipped up or down and remo- ved.
9 Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight container s or wrapped in aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as pos- sible. Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be stored in the bottle rack on the door .
10 1. Place the packed food in the drawer s. Place food to be frozen in the upper drawer . Unfr ozen food must not touch items already frozen, otherwise the frozen food could begin to defr ost. 2. Place frozen foods in the dr awers sorted by type, as far as possible.
11 4. Turn the thermostat knob to the r equired setting and replace the plug in the power socket. Warning! Never use metal tools to scrape off the fr ost Do not use a mechanical device or any artificial means to speed up the thawing process other than those r ecommended by the manufacturer .
12 – cleansers which contain acetic acid. Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts. • Many proprietary kitchen surface cleaner s contain chemicals that can attack/damage the plastics used in this appliance.
13 Something Not W orking If the appliance is not functioning correctly , please carry out the following checks before contacting your local AEG Service For ce Centre. Warning! Repairs should only be carried out by qualified service engineer s. Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunc- tioning.
14 If, after carrying out the necessary checks there is still a fault with your appliance please contact your local AEG Service Force Centr e. In guarantee cu stomers should en sure that the suggested checks have been made as the engineer will make a charge if the fault i s not a mechanical or electrical breakdown.

19 Inner door r eversal 1. Using a screwdriver r elease bracket (1) by pressing on the internal spring and withdraw it fr om its seat together with the door; remove plug (2) and fit it in the hole left open on the opposite side; turn the door through 180°, r emove the bracket (1) and refit it on the opposite side.
20 Fit the appliance in the niche by making sure that it stands against the interior surface of the unit on the side where the door hinges of the appliances are fitted. Insert the appliance until the upper strip butts up against the unit (1) and make sure that the lower hinge is in line with the surface of the unit (2).
21 B E C D Apply covers (C-D) into the r elevant holes. Snap ventilation grille (B) and hinge cover (E) into position. Separate parts Ha,Hb , Hc, Hd as shown in the figure PR266 Ha Hb Hc Hd I P Fasten the appliance with 4 screws provided in the kit included with the appliance.
22 Open the appliance door and the fur- niture door at 90°. Insert the small square (Hb) into guide (Ha). Put together the appliance door and the furniture door and mark the holes as indicated in the figure. Remove the squares and drill holes with ø 2 mm at 8 mm from the out- er edge of the door .
