4 VCR Operation When you want to oper ate the VCR, set the VCR/TV switch N to “VCR”. ° 2 Numeric buttons T o select the programme positions (1–99) of the VCR. Example: 0 9: 19: T o enter a ShowVie w number . T o enter numbers for v arious settings.

6 Setting the Remote Control to Operate Y our TV The 3 Methods for Switching to the A V Input on Y our P anasonic T V Y our P anasonic TV uses one of three diff erent methods f or s witching between TV reception and the A V input(s).

The Country setting menu appears on the TV screen. 0 5 Press the Cursor buttons ( 3421 ) P to select the country where you are using the VCR.
9 Connecting and Setting Up 1 Switch the TV on. 2 Select an unoccupied programme position (which is not tuned to a TV station). If y ou are using a P anasonic TV , select programme position “ 0 ” . 3 Set the VCR/TV s witch N to “ VCR ” . 4 Press the VCR-ON/OFF b utton 1 to s witch the VCR on.
10 Playback Preparations ≥ Confir m that the VCR is on. ≥ Confir m that the TV is on and the VCR vie wing channel is selected. ≥ Insert a recorded video cassette. For Normal Playback: Press the Play button H . For Cue Playback: During playback, tap the Fast Forward button G .
11 Recording Recording VCR display Preparations ≥ Confirm that the VCR is on. ≥ Confir m that the TV is on and the VCR vie wing channel is selected. ≥ Set the VCR/TV s witch N to “ VCR ” . Operations 1 Insert a video cassette with an intact erasure prevention tab.
12 T o Prevent Accidental Erasure of Recor de d Contents When you record again onto a previously recorded video cassette, the previous recording is automatically erased and replaced with the new recording. Therefore, to prevent accidental erasure of the recorded contents, break out the erasure prevention tab after recording.
13 Timer Recording Timer Recording This function lets y ou programme the VCR for unattended automatic recording of desired TV programmes when you are not at home or sleeping.
14 If “– – ” Appears under “P os/Name” after Entering a ShowView Number P os/Name stands for Prog ramme Position/TV Station Name . Normally , the name of the TV station or the n umber of the prog ramme position is displa yed under “ P os/Name ” .
15 Timer Recording T o Check the Contents of Timer Recording Programmings ³ Displa y the VCR picture on the TV . ³ Set the VCR/TV switch N to “ VCR ” . 1 Press the PROG./CHECK button < to display the timer recording programmings on the TV screen.
16 T o Change a Timer Recording Programming It is not possible to change a programming while the timer recording is being performed. ³ Display the VCR picture on the TV . ³ Set the VCR/TV switch N to “ VCR ” . 1 Press the PROG./CHECK button < to display the timer recording programmings on the TV screen.
17 Adv anced Operations Preparations ≥ Display the VCR picture on the TV . ≥ Insert a recorded video cassette. Operation 1 Press the INDEX button J (that corresponds to the direction from the current tape position in which the desired programme is located on the tape) to start the index search.
18 Operations 1 Press the Play button H to start playback. 2 At the point where you want to join a new scene, press the Pause/Slow button 7 to put it in the still playback mode.

25 V ar ious Settings Setting the VCR’ s Clock Usually , the VCR ’ s Auto Setup function automatically adjusts the clock to the correct time. Under some reception conditions, howe ver , the VCR cannot set the cloc k automatically . In this case, follow the operation steps below to manually set the clock.
