5 Before use Bef ore use Overview This unit is a 1 ME digital video s witcher which suppor ts a multiple number of HD and SD f ormats. Despite its compact size , it comes with eight SDI inputs, one D VI-D input, five SDI outputs and one D VI-D output.
6 Bef ore use Concerning differences in the system ver sions This manual describes the functions which can be actuated in any model whose system v ersion is V2.00.00 and up . The applicable functions are ref erred to as “This function can be actuated in an y model whose system version is V2.
7 Basic operations 1. Basic operations 1-1. Bac kgr ound transition 1-1-1. Selecting the bus Press one of the crosspoint buttons to select the material to be used f or the background tr ansition. Depending on the operating status, the b utton pressed will light in one of two colors.
8 1. Basic operations Single SHIFT Single SHIFT is used to s witch the individual material of a PGM/A bus crosspoint b utton, PST/B bus crosspoint b utton or A UX b us crosspoint button from a front material to a rear material or vice versa.
9 Basic operations 1. Basic operations 1-1-5. Manual transition Operate the f ader le ver to e x ecute transitions manually . If the f ader lev er has been operated during auto transition, auto transition will be s witched to manual operation as soon as the f ader position ov er takes the amount of the transition being e xecuted.
10 1. Basic operations 1-2. Wipe 1-2-1. Selecting the wipe pattern The wipe patterns are selected using the number keys . Press the [BKGD P A TT] button (or [KEY P A TT] button). The [BKGD P A TT] button (or [KEY P A TT] button) indicator lights in amber , and the pattern table screen appears on the built-in displa y .
11 Basic operations 1. Basic operations 1-2-2. Selecting the wipe direction Operate the wipe direction selector b uttons to select the wipe direction f or the background tr ansition. (The ke y transitions are set b y the menu. The direction which is set here will not be reflected.
12 1. Basic operations 1-2-4. Setting the wipe star t position Wipe star t can be set at any desired position. T arget patterns: WIPE1: 5 WIPE2: 4, 5, 6, 7 SQ1: 5 SQ2: 4, 5, 6, 7 The WIPE pattern is set using the WIPE P osition sub menu of the Backg round menu (or K ey men u).
13 Basic operations 1. Basic operations Setting the trimming The trimming at the time a background transition is e xecuted can be set. T arget patterns: SQ1, SQ2, SL, 3D1, 3D2 The “4:3” and “4:3Smth” settings for the T r im item take eff ect when the HD f or mat has been selected as the system f or mat setting.
14 1. Basic operations 1-2-6. Setting the latency A dela y amount can be set for the bac kground image or k ey image. Press the s b utton to light its indicator , and displa y the Config menu. Use [F1] to displa y the Latency sub menu. Use [F2] to set the dela y amount f or the background image using the BKGD item.
15 Basic operations 1. Basic operations 1-3. Key This operation combines the bac kground image with another image. The ke y definition can be adjusted, and an edge can be added to the combined image. Also av ailable as materials besides KEY f or combining with the backg round image are PinP (picture in picture) and DSK (downstream k ey).
16 1. Basic operations When the luminance k ey has been selected, the chroma component can be included in the generation of the k ey signals in view of the self k ey application. (This does not apply to the linear ke y .) Use [F3], and select the setting using the Lum K ey item.
17 Basic operations 1. Basic operations Setting the fill matte color Press the k b utton to light its indicator , and displa y the K ey men u. Use [F1] to displa y the Fill Matte sub menu. Use [F2], [F3] and [F4] to adjust the Hue, Sat and Lum of the fill matte.
18 1. Basic operations Set the wipe direction. On the K ey men u, use [F1] to display the T ransition sub menu. Use [F1] to set “Nor mal” or “Rev erse” using the K ey out P attern item. Normal The ke y out pattern moves in the same direction as the ke y in pattern.
19 Basic operations 1. Basic operations 1-3-4. Key pre view K ey pre vie w images can be output to the previe w output, and the ke ys can be adjusted and check ed. On the K e y menu, use [F1] to displa y the K ey sub menu. Use [F5] to set the pre view mode using the PVW item.
20 1. Basic operations 1-3-6. Adjusting the chroma ke y Sampling is e xecuted f or the selected k ey materials to adjust those aspects of the ke y that are to be compensated. Step 1 T o execute the sampling automatically Press the k b utton to light its indicator , and displa y the Chroma K ey men u.
21 Basic operations 1. Basic operations Step 2 The objective of this step is to remo ve the noise in the backg round image. The noise is remov ed by carrying out this step sev eral times . On the Chroma K e y menu, use [F1] to displa y the Sample sub menu.
22 1. Basic operations Step 4 After steps 1 to 3 hav e been carried out, noise will still remain in the detail areas such as the subject’ s hair as shown in the image below . Noise remaining in the detail areas is also remov ed in “step 4”. If there are many areas with noise , the noise is remov ed by carr ying out this step se ver al times.
23 Basic operations 1. Basic operations [Spill–] [Spill+] In these modes, the noise in the f oreground image can be remo ved or restored step b y step through repeated sampling. [+] Spill [–] [Matte–] [Matte+] In these modes, the matte inf ormation is adjusted.
24 1. Basic operations [Detail–] [Detail+] In these modes, the noise in the bac kground image can be remov ed step by step . This is a useful wa y of adjusting images lost by other sampling oper ations to adjust the texture or tr ansparency of images.
25 Basic operations 1. Basic operations [FineT uning] In this mode, detailed images can be adjusted. On the Chroma K e y menu, use [F1] to displa y the Sample sub menu. Use [F2] to select “Composite” using the Vie w item. Use [F3] to select “FineT uning” using the Mode item.

31 Basic operations 1. Basic operations 1-4-6. PinP adjustments Adjusting the PinP position and size While the PinP menu is selected, adjust the X and Y coordinates using the positioner in the positioner area, and adjust the size using the rotary encoder [Z].
32 1. Basic operations 1-4-7. Linking PinP1 and PinP2 The PinP1 and PinP2 images perf or m a symmetrical operation f or the axis whose coordinates and rotation angle hav e been set. The image ser ving as the ref erence is the PinP image of the menu being operated.

68 1. Basic operations The data is stored in the f ollowing f olders on the memor y card. When data is to be loaded, first store the data in the respective f olders, and then load the files.

76 2. Input/output signal settings 2-1-1. Setting the frame synchronizer The frame synchronizer can be set to On or Off f or each input. The D VI input frame synchronizer is permanently On. It cannot be set from On to Off or vice versa. On the Input sub menu, use [F2] to select the input to be set using the Select item.
77 Settings 2. Input/output signal settings 2-1-2. Setting the input mode The mode can be set f or each input only when HD has been selected as the system format. When SD is selected as the system f or mat, the input mode is alwa ys the same as Normal.
78 2. Input/output signal settings 2-1-3. Setting the delay amount The input signals can be dela yed. The dela y can be applied only to the SDI IN7 and SDI IN8 input signals. On the Input sub menu, use [F2] to select the input to be set using the Select item.

Setting the analog composite input signals (option) When the analog composite input board (option) has been connected, the analog composite input signals can be set. On the Input sub menu, use [F2] to select the input to be set using the Select item.

86 2. Input/output signal settings 2-1-11. Displaying the D VI input signal information These are used to displa y the information concer ning the D VI-D input signal images. The inf or mation cannot be changed. On the Input sub menu, use [F2] to select the input to be set using the Select item.
87 Settings 2. Input/output signal settings 2-1-12. Adjusting the D VI input signals These are used to adjust the clock/phase and position of the D VI-D input signal. Select the clock/phase and position of the signals when the D VI input board (A V -HS04M3) has been connected.
88 2. Input/output signal settings 2-2. Output signal settings SDI OUT1 to SDI OUT5 are SDI signal outputs. D VI OUT is D VI-D signal output. OUT A1, OUT A2, OUT B1 and OUT B2 can be set only when one of the f ollowing option boards has been connected.
89 Settings 2. Input/output signal settings 2-2-1. Assigning the output signals The output signals can be assigned to the SDI OUT1 to SDI OUT5 connectors and D VI OUT connector . On the Output sub menu, use [F2] to select the output to be set using the Select item.

Setting the D VI output signals Set the D VI output signals of the standard output (D VI OUT) and the D VI output signals if the D VI/analog output board (option) has been connected. On the Output sub menu, use [F2] to select the output to be set using the Select item.
91 Settings 2. Input/output signal settings Use [F4] to select the scaling method using the Scale item. Fit-V The aspect ratio of the output images is maintained, and the size of the images is increased or reduced in accordance with the vertical resolution.
92 2. Input/output signal settings 2-2-4. Setting the down-con verter (option) Select the settings f or the down-conv er ter that is built into the SDI output board (option: A V -HS04M7). On the Output sub menu, use [F2] to select the output to be set using the Select item.

Changing the material names The material names of the input signals (SDI IN1 to SDI IN8, D VI IN, IN-A1, IN-A2, IN-B1 or IN-B2) to be set on the multi view displa y can be changed. These names can be selected from the def ault settings or user settings.
