3 Method of connection This is connected to the exchange line or P ABX/PMBX (Private Automatic/ Manual Branch Exchange) extension by the new standard British T elecom plug and socket. 16 Settings Battery Charge At the time of shipment, the battery is not charged. T o charge, place the handset on the base unit. Please charge the battery for at least 3 hours before initial use. • Once the handset is placed on the base unit, the charge indicator ( ) lights.
17 Chapter 1 Preparation • Battery life may vary depending on usage conditions and ambient temperature. • Clean the handset and the base unit charge contacts with a soft dry cloth once a month. Clean more often if the unit is subject to grease, dust or high humidity .
Settings 18 Selecting the Dialling Mode Y ou can program the dialling mode by using the handset near the base unit. If you have touch tone service, set to T ONE. If rotary or pulse service is used, set to PULSE. The factory preset is 1 (T ONE). 1 Press (Program), then (Intercom).

Preparing the Answering System Greeting Message Y ou can record a personal greeting message. If not, one of two pre-recorded greetings will be played when a call is received (p. 21). All messages (greeting, incoming, memo, etc.) are stored in digital memory (p.

If messages are recorded in noisy rooms, the memory time may be shortened up to 3 minutes.
