OUTBACK GTFX AND GVFX CERTIFICA TE OF C OMPLIANCE TO UL1 7 41 UTILIT YINTERAC TIVE INVERTERS OutBack GTFX and GVFX inverters comply with UL1741 for utility-interactive inverters. The follo wing specications ref er to expor ting power to a simulat ed utility source of less than 1% voltage total harmonic distor tion ( THD).
WEL C OME TO THE OUTBA CK POWER SYSTEMS FX SERIES INVERTER/CHARGER SYSTEM The FX Series Inver ter/Charger oers a complet e power conv ersion system—DC to AC, battery charging , and an AC T ransfer Switch—and can be used for stand-alone or back -up applications.
GRIDINTERAC TIVE FX SERIES INVERTER/CHARGER PR OGRAMMING NOT E: Please see the FX and VFX Series Inver ter/Charger Installation Manua l to install, wir e, and connect each FX Series I nverter/Charger . This programming manual assumes all FXs have been installed and ar e ready to pr ogram according t o the way they were wir ed.
The FX connected to P or t 01 is always programmed as the Master . AC Breakers O DC Breakers O Components and C onnections: 1. With all AC and DC breakers OFF , connect all FXs to the HUB with individual lengths of CA T5 cable.
AC Breakers O DC Breakers On 2. With the FXs connec ted to the HUB, turn only the DC br eakers ON and power up the components. All AC breakers should be OFF . NOT E: Powering up the FXs can cause the r ed ERROR ST A TUS light to blink. Af ter 5-10 seconds, the g reen INVERTER light should be bright and the ERR OR and AC IN lights dark.
3. After powering up the components, connect the MA TE to the HUB. a) Plug the MA TE into the 1st MA TE Port on the HUB. b) The MA TE will power up and should recognize an y component connected to the HUB.
ST ACKING OPTIONS OutBack Grid-Interac tive FXs can be stacked in Classic Series only. CLASSIC ST ACKING • T wo FXs are wired to two 120 V AC output legs producing 240 V AC between them. • Each FX powers one leg and acts independently of the other , but both combine when 240 V AC is required f or a load.
Once the MA TE recogniz es each FX (and OutBack Charge Controller), push and hold the rst two soft keys simultaneously to return to the MAIN menu . T o program the FXs , go to the ADV/FX/ST ACK menu on the MA TE navigating with the follo wing steps: • Pr ess the <ADV> soft key.

MASTER With the P or t 01 FX as the M aster , press the <PORT> soft key to change the remaining P or ts and designate the r emaining FXs as Slaves.
POWER SA VE LE VELS Depending on the model, each FX consumes 20-25 watts of power when it r emains on, even if it isn ’t actively inverting or charging. OutBack o ers a power save featur e for its non- grid-interactive systems, but is not available for g rid-interactive systems.
AC ON • With the programming completed, turn the AC output breakers ON with the AC BYP ASS on the AC breaker panel switched to NORM AL. V erify the AC voltage output through the M A TE following path: P A TH MAIN------- SETUP ------------ ST A TUS/FX/P AGE1---------- Float P00 ST A TUS/FX/METER--P00 12.
If the FX’ s AC source is available, the y ellow AC IN ST A TUS light will blink . The FX will connect to the utility grid when the voltage is within 108-140 V AC and the frequency between 59.3-60.5 H z. After about 30 seconds, the AC IN light should st op blink ing and stay lit.
A UXILIARY A UX FUNC TIONS The A UX output provides a 12 VDC, 0.7 ADC max output at the AUX t erminals to control either DC or AC external loads.

LIST OF A UX FUNC TIONS • Cool F an activates the standard T ur boF an which cools the FX. • Divert DC and Divert AC allows the A UX to diver t excess renewable energy t o a DC or AC load, respectively . This allows control of ener gy sources such as wind turbines or hydr o- generators.

• If a ventilation fan is only needed intermittently , the ventfan o period shuts the fan o for a user - determined time before starting up again for a one- minute period when the battery voltage exceeds the ventfan on setpoint.
