2 Keep the unit away from flower vases, sink etc. Liquids spilled into the unit can cause serious damages. Switch OFF the Power Supply to the unit and consult a qualified service engineer before attempting to use the unit again. When you leave your home for a long period of time, unplug the AC mains lead.

6 REMOTE CONTROL Open the battery compart- ment cover in the direction of the arrow. Install two “AAA” batteries (supplied), paying attention to the polarity diagram in the battery compartment.
7 AC adaptor (supplied) AC 240V, 50Hz TO USE A C PO WER 1. Connect the A C mains lead to the A C adaptor . 2. Connect the A C adaptor plug into this unit’ s DC input socket. 3. Connect the A C mains lead into an A C soc ket. 4. The Standby indicator will light.
8 Connect an indoor or outdoor antenna to the antenna socket at the rear panel as shown below. For all antenna circuit problems, please consult your local dealer. ANTENNA CONNECTIONS The type of antenna required depends on the position of your home, its distance from the transmitter and local interference.
9 Using an A V Amplifier with built-in digital surr ound If you are using an Amplifier with a b uilt-in digital surround sound decoder (such as Dolby Digital / DTS / MPEG / etc.), y ou can connect it as sho wn below . Manufactured under license from Dolby Laboratories.
10 or AV1 Input Selection If you connect the unit to a VCR, camcorder or games console, you can select this input by pressing the 0/AV button. 3. To connect the unit to a camcorder Connect the camcorder to the unit as shown. Press the 0/AV button to select AV3 to use the TV as a monitor.

15 TV OPERA TIONS 1 Press Power on the top of the unit or remote control to turn on the unit. The standby indicator will go off. Press TV/DVD to select TV mode. Once you have correctly connected and set up the channels on your set, you can view the channels as follows.
16 CONVENIENT FUNCTIONS The following functions are available from the remote control handset only. TV/AV Selection For receiving the desired signal: Press AV to select the TV or AV mode. TV position - to view a normal TV programme. AV position - to receive through the direct Video in- put.
17 The on timer feature allows you to automatically turn on your TV after a preset amount of time (up to 12 hours and 59 minutes) on the selected channel. The off timer also allows you to turn off y our TV after a preset amount of time . Y ou can set the off timer in conjunction with the on timer .

Press ▲ or ▼ to select the AV COLOUR mode. AV COLOR ADJUSTING When connecting external equipment to the unit, the picture may become black and white.
21 RECEPTION OF INTERFERENCE The most common types of television interference are as follows. IGNITION Black spots and horizontal streaks may appear, the picture may flutter or drift. This is usually caused by interference from car ignition system, neon lamps, electric drills or other electrical appliances.
22 TELETEXT Most broadcasting stations off er a T eletext service in addition to their standard TV program. T eletext off ers news , weather f orecast, winning Lotto numbers , TV listings and other interesting ne ws. The te xt is received page b y page, as soon as y ou select the broadcasting station.
23 To call a teletext page Leaf through the pages with the PA GE ( M M M M M / ? ? ? ? ? ) - b utton (f orward or backward). Note: Y ou will not necessarily find a page for e very page number y ou enter . E.g. y ou hav e entered page no . 116 but it does not off er this page.
24 DISC D VD discs must be Region 4 or Region ALL type to play on this unit. The loaded Disc (D VD , A udio-CD and MP3/JPEG-CD) will be recognized automatically . The suitable disc f ormats are: D VD-Video, CD , CD-R/R W and D VD-R/RW (Video f ormat only).

26 You can change the default settings to customize performance to your preference. SETTING SETUP LANGUAGE 1 Press TV/DVD to select the DVD mode. “No Disc” will appear on the screen. (If a DVD disc has already loaded, the play- back will start automati- cally .

28 SPECIAL PLA YB A CK Press F.FWD during normal playback. Each press of the F.FWD button will increase the speed of the search (x 2), (x 4), (x 8), (x 15). (CD: (x 2), (x 4), (x 8), (x 20)) • To resume normal playback, press PLAY . Fast Forward Playback Press REW during normal playback.
29 MP3/JPEG PLA YB A CK 4 3 6 1 2 5 This player can play back the MP3/JPEG-data which has been recorded on CD-R or CD-RW. To produce the MP3/JPEG-data, you need a Win- dows-PC with CD-R/RW drive and a MP3/JPEG- encoding Software (not supplied). The Apple-HFS-System cannot be played.

T o display the file menu press TITLE . • MP3 file on the KODAK Picture CD is not recognized on this unit. JPEG CD playback Place a disc on which JPEG files have been recorded in the disc slot.
31 SETTING THE JPEG INTER V AL 1 2 You can continuously play back all JPEG files automatically. Press SETUP in the stop mode. Press or to select “Picture”, then press ENTER . Press or to select “JPEG Interval”. 3 4 Press or to select your desired time.
32 SETTING THE SELECT FILES 4 When playing back a CD containing a mix- ture of MP3 and JPEG files, only MP3 or JPEG files can be displayed on the file menu. Press SETUP in the stop mode. Press / to select “Picture”, then press ENTER . Press or to select “Select Files”.
33 NOTES: •Y ou can select the P ause, Slow or Search playback in the zoom mode. • Some discs may not respond to zoom feature. ZOOMING/LOCA TING DESIRED SCENE This unit will allow you to zoom in on the frame image. You can then make selections by switching the position of the frame.
34 NOTES: Some discs may not work with the repeat operation. In A-B repeat mode, subtitles near point A or B ma y not appear . During the A-B Repeat Playbac k the ANGLE feature will not operate. Y ou ma y not be able to set A-B Re- peat, depending on the scenes of the DVD.

37 1/9 CHANGING ANGLES/TITLE SELECTION/D VD MENU When playing back a disc recorded with multi-angle facil- ity, you can change the view angle. 1 Press ANGLE during play- back. The current angle will ap- pear . 2 Press ANGLE repeatedly until the desired angle is selected.

40 PARENT AL CONTR OL SETTING Some discs are specified not suitable for children. Such discs can be limited not to play back with the unit. NOTES: • If each setup (P .26,31,32,38~41,43~45) has been completed, the unit can alwa ys be worked under the same con- ditions (especially with D VD discs).
41 TO CHANGE THE P ARENT AL LEVEL NOTE: Do not forget the pass w ord. If you forget the password, you can reset the code as follow: Press and hold the Stop button on the front panel, then press and hold the number 7 button on the remote control at the same time.
