EN-13 Inst alling the Batteries 1. Open the battery cover in the direction shown. 2. Install batteries as indicated by the diagram inside the comp artment. 3. Close the battery cover into position. Caution Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
EN-14 Remote Control Operation Point the remote control at the infrare d remote sensor and press a button. Operating the projector from the front Note The remote control may not operate wh en there is sunlight or other strong light such as a fluorescent lamp shining on the remote sensor.

EN-16 Connecting a computer or monitor Connecting a computer The projecto r provides tw o VGA input sockets that allow you to conn ect them to both IBM ® comp atibles and Macin tosh ® computers. A Mac adapter is needed if you are connecting legacy version Macintosh comp uters.
EN-17 Connecting V ideo source devices Y ou can conn ect your projector to vari ous V ideo source devices th at provide any one of the following outpu t sockets: HDMI Component V ideo S-Vi.
EN-18 Connecting an HDMI source device Examine your Vi deo source device to determin e if it has a set of unused HDMI output jacks available: If so, you can continue with this procedure. If not, you will need to reassess which method you can use to connect to the device.
EN-19 Connecting an S-V ideo source device Examine your V ideo source device to de te rmine if it has an unused S-V ideo output socket available: If so, you can continue with this procedure. If not, you will need to reassess whic h method you can use to connect to the device.
EN-20 Connecting a composit e V ideo source device Examine your Vi deo source device to determin e if it has a set of unused composite Vi deo output socket s available: If so, you can continue with this procedure. If not, you will need to reassess which method you can use to connect to the device.
EN-21 Operation Powering On/Off the Projector Powering On the Projector: 1. Complete t he AC power cor d and periph eral signal cab le(s) connec tions. 2. Press to turn on the projector . The projector t akes a minute or so to warm up. 3. T urn on your source (computer , notebook, DVD, etc.
EN-22 Adjusting the Projector Height The projector is equippe d with an elevator foot to adjust the ima ge height. T o raise or lower the image, turn the el evator foot to fi ne-tune the height. Note T o avo id damaging the proj ector , make sure that t he elevator foot is fully retr acted before placing the proj ector in its carrying case.
EN-23 Adjusting Projection Image Size Refer to the graphic a nd table below to d etermine the sc reen size and projection distance. Note Position the pr ojector in a hori zontal positio n; other positions can cause h eat build-up and damage to the projecto r.
EN-24 Menu Operation The projector has mu ltilingual on-scree n display menus that allow you to make image adjustment s and change a variety of settings. How to operate 1. Press MENU on the projector or Menu on the remote control to open the OSD menu.

EN-30 Setting Menu Position Choose the menu location on th e display screen. Projection Adjust the picture to match the orient atio n of the projector: upright or up side- down, in fr ont of or be hind the scr een. Invert o r reverse the image accordingly .
EN-31 Source Lock On: The projector will search specified c onnection port. Off: The projector will search for other si gnals if the current input signal is lost. Bright Mode ECO: Choose “ECO” to dim the pr ojector lamp which will lower power consumption and extend the lamp life by up to 120%.

EN-33 Appendix Replacing the Lamp As the projector operates ov er time, the brightness of the projecto r lamp gradually decreases and th e lamp becomes more susceptible to breaka ge. We reco mmend replacing the lamp if a warnin g message is displayed.
