10 2.Preparation 2. Prep aration 2.1 Inst alling/Replacing the Batteries 1. T urn the main unit up side down. 2. Slide the batter y cover in the direction of the arrow while pressing the ribbed p a rt of the cover .
11 2.Prepara tion EN Battery Life & Replacement If the battery low symbol ( ) appea rs on the display , replace all four batteries at the same time. - When the battery low symbol ( ) start s to blink, you will still be able to use the unit for a short while.

T o make use of the memory and aver age values functions: • Set the unit to the correct date and time before t aking a measurement for the first time.

15 3.Using the Unit EN 3. Using the Unit 3.1 How to Sit Correctly When T a king a Measurement Y ou can t ake a measurement on ei ther your left or right arm. Notes: • M easurements should be t aken in a quiet place and you should be in a relaxed, s eated position.
16 3.Using the Unit Notes: • Correct posture durin g measurement is necessary to get accurate results. • Y ou should also try to m easure your blood pr essure at the same time each day .
17 3.Using the Unit EN 3.2 Applying the Arm Cuff Notes: • Be sure to wrap the arm cuf f correctly so that you get accurate results. • M easurements can be t aken in light clothing. However , please remove thick clothes, such as sweater s, before ta king a reading.
18 3.Using the Unit 2. Put your left arm th rough the cuf f loop. Note: If the c uf f is not assembled, pass the end of the cuff furthest from the tubing through the me tal D-ring to form a loop. The smooth cloth should be on the inside of the cuf f loop.
19 3.Using the Unit EN 3. Position the arm correctly . T aking measurements on the right arm Apply the cuf f so that the air tube is at the side of your elbow . • Be careful not to rest your arm on the air tube, or otherwise restrict the flow of air to the cuff.
20 3.Using the Unit 3.3 T aking a Reading 1. Press the O/I ST ART button to turn on the unit. All symbols appear on the displ ay . The cuff starts to inflate auto matically . As the cuf f inflates, the unit automatically dete rmines your ideal inflation level.
21 3.Using the Unit EN 3. Press the O/I ST ART button to turn the unit off. Note: If you forget to turn the monitor of f, it will automatically turn of f after two minutes. Notes: • Self-diagnosis of measured result s and treatment are dangerous. Please follow the instru ctions of your doctor .
22 3.Using the Unit Using the Guest Mode The monitor stores meas urement values for one user in the memory . The guest mode can be used to t ake a single me asurement for another user . No measurement values are stored in the memory when the guest mode is selected.
23 3.Using the Unit EN Import ant: • If your systolic or diastolic pressure is out side the standard range, the heartbeat symbol will blink when the measurement result is displayed. Recent research sugges t s that the following values can be used as a guide to high blood pressure for measurement s taken at home.
24 3.Using the Unit What is Irregular Heartbeat? An irregular heartbeat is a heartbeat rhythm that varies by more than 25% from the average heartbeat rhythm de tected while the unit is measuring the systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
25 3.Using the Unit EN 3.4 Using the Memory Function This unit has a memory cap able of storing 90 set s of readings. Every time you complete the measur ement, the unit automa ti cally stores the blood pressure and pulse rate. If there are three read ings within 10 minutes of the last reading, the average of the three readings is displayed.
26 3.Using the Unit 2. While the average value is displayed, press the Memory button ( ) again. The result from the most recent measurement is displayed. The date and time are alternately displayed. Note: If your systolic or diastolic pressure is outsid e the standard range, the heartbeat symbol will blink when the measurement result is displayed.
27 3.Using the Unit EN 3. Press the Memor y button ( ) repeatedly to cycle through the previous measurement results. Keep the button pr es sed down to cycle rapidly through the previous results. If the irregular heartbeat symbol was displayed at the time of a measurement, this is displaye d when that result is displayed.
28 3.Using the Unit T o Delete All the V alues S tored in Memory Y ou cannot delete indiv idual stored r eadings, all th e readings in the unit will be deleted. 1. Press the Memory button ( ) to turn the monitor on. 2. Press the Memory button ( ) again.
