2 About this manual Update the camera’s firmware to enable PictBrid ge on your camera. This will allow you to print pictures dire ctly from the camera by co nnecting it to a printer that supports PictBrid ge with the USB cable.

4 1 Functions ch anged by upda ting the firmwa re Connection to a computer When the USB cable is used to connec t the camera to a computer , follow the procedur e below to select PC in the camera settings. 1 Insert the marked end of the pr ovided USB cable into the USB port on your com puter as shown below.
5 Direct printing function 4 Press ac to select PC and press e . 5 The computer recog nizes the camera as a new d evice. • When you connect the camera to the comput er for the first time, the computer automaticall y recognizes the camera. Click “OK” when the message saying that the installat ion is completed appears.
6 2 Direct printing Using the direct printing function By connecting the camera to a Pict Bridge-compatible prin ter with the USB cable, you can print out recorded pict ures direct ly without the use of a computer.
7 Connecting the camer a to a printer Use the USB cable provided with the camera to connect it t o a PictBridge- compatible pri nter. 1 Turn th e printer on and plug the printer end of the USB cab le into the printer’s USB p ort.
8 Printing pic tures When the camera is connect ed to a PictBridge- compatible pri nter, t he PRINT MODE SELECT screen is disp layed on th e monit or. Use this screen to select the print mod e. You can ch oose from the followin g print modes. PRINT Prints the select ed picture.
9 Printing pictures 2 Press ac to select the paper size, the n press d . • PRINT mode: Go to step 3. • MULTI PRINT m ode: Go to step 4. • The available paper size settings vary depending on the type of print er. • When the PRINT PAPER screen is not displayed, SIZE, BORDERLESS and PICS/SHE ET ar e set to < STANDARD.

11 Printing pictures e When you have f inished all the settings for MORE, press e . • The screen displayed in step 5 appears. • To print more than one picture in Print and/or Mul ti-print mode, repea t steps 5 and 6 and make single and/ or multiple print reserva tions for all the pictures yo u want to print.

To cancel printi ng, press ac to select CA NCEL, then pr ess e . • In ALL INDEX mode, the printer automat ically selects the number of pictures per sh eet, etc.
16 Exiting direct printing When you have finished pr inting, disco nnect the camera from the print er. 1 In the PRINT MODE SELECT screen , select b . • The message shown right is displayed. 2 Turn the came ra off. 3 Remove the USB c able from the camera.
