2 Pull out the paper . All Models: Remove the protective film and any shipping tape. Lift the cov er . Press OPEN. Lift out the image drum. Replace the drum. Remove tthe tape and sponge. ! Car eful: the sponge will have some loose toner on the bottom fr om factory testing.
3 3 Install the T oner (“T ype 7 ,” OKI P/N 4046880 1) 4 Make Connections Place the black end under the tab ( 1 ), then lower the gray end into the toner well. Push the lock lever toward the back of the printer as far as it will go. Remove the tape.
4 Pull the tray out. Push the tray back in. Adjust the guides ( 1 ) and load paper . P aper Gauge: Indicates the amount of paper left in the drawer . Models 24 T n & 24DXn Only: Load the 2nd P a per T ray in the same manner . 1 T urn the printer on.
5 2 Click. 1 Select. Click. T o Install the W indows ® 2000 Driver ! Have your original Micr osoft ® W indows 2000 CD handy . Y ou may be pr ompted for it during the installation. □ Close any open applications. □ Make sure that the printer is connected to the PC and turned on.
6 Click. □ T o load the W indo ws 2000 PCL5e dr i ver , browse to d:W in2000US_EngPcl5e (assuming D is your CD-R OM drive): Click. ! If the Digital Signature Not F ound window appears, b ut does not off er you the option of continuing, check with your System Administrator regarding the Windo ws 2000 security settings.
7 T o Install the W indows 98 Driver ! Have your original Micr osoft W indows 98 CD handy . Y ou ma y be pr ompted for it during the installation. □ Close any open applications. □ Make sure that the printer is connected to the PC and turned on. □ Restart the computer and wait for the following window to appear: Click.
8 T o Install the W indows 95B (OSR2) Driver ! Have your original Micr osoft W indows 95 CD handy . Y ou ma y be pr ompted for it during the installation. T o det ermine if you have Windows 95B (OSR2) or 95A (Original 95): □ Click Start → Settings → Control Panel.
9 T o Install the W indows 95A (Orig inal 95) Driver ! Have your original Micr osoft W indows 95 CD handy . Y ou may be pr ompted for it during the installation. ! T o determine if you have W indows 95 version A, see “T o Install the W indows 95B (OSR2) Driver .
10 T o Install the W indows NT 4.0 Driver ! Have your original Micr osoft W indows NT 4.0 CD handy . Y ou may be prompted for it during the installation. □ Close any open applications. □ Make sure that the printer is connected to the PC and turned on.

T o Install the OkiNet Utilities: □ In the OKI Menu Installer window , click the button beside Network Utilities. □ Click the button beside OkiNet Utilities and follow the on-screen prompts to load the components of your choice.
13 T o Install the Adobe ® P ostScript ® Level 2 Driver □ Insert the “OKIP A GE 24 Dr i vers, Utilities and Publications for W indows 2000 and Mac OS 7.0 and higher” CD in your CD-ROM drive. □ Open the CD icon that appears on the Desktop. Requirements • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.
