12 > INSTALLATION AND RE LOCATION PROCEDURE PREPARING A LOCATION FOR THE PRINTER Place the machine on a level an d stur dy s urface that can withstand the machine weig ht – 20. 4 kg (4 5lb) (B6 200) or 22.6 k g (50lb) (B630 0). If tilted, the machine may fall ov er and cause injuries.

Insert the right and left tabs of the face up (rear) tray into the holes at the back of the printer (1), an d lower the tray into position (2 ).

INSTALLATION AND RELOCATION PROCEDURE > 21 INSTALLING TH E DUPLEX UNIT You can install a dup lex unit option on this printer. If a face up tray has been fitted, rem ove it b y reversi ng the step s in “Installing the Face Up (Rear) T ray” on page 14 before install ing the duplex unit and re fit it when the duplex unit has been in stalled.

INSTALLATION AND RELOCATION PROCEDURE > 23 INSTALLING TH E OF FSET CATCH T RAY You can install an of fset catch tray option on this printer. 1. Lift the second lever on the top le ft corner at the back of the printer (1), and open the cover (2). NOTE An offset catch tray can b e installed on the B6300 o nly.
24 > INSTALLATION AND RE LOCATION PROCEDURE 2. Loosen the right and l eft thumb screws as shown in t he diagram to uninstall the top cover of the paper exit. 3. Insert the right and left tabs of the of fset catch tray into the holes at the top of the printer (1) and lower it slo wly onto the top of the printer (2).
INSTALLATION AND RELOCATION PROCEDURE > 25 5. Close the cover . 6. If you install the face up (rear ) tray on the printer , affix the label provided to the back of the o ffset catch tray . 7. Pull out the extension tray . 8. Flip up the st opper wh en printi ng on heavy weight papers.
26 > INSTALLATION AND RE LOCATION PROCEDURE INSTALLING A N ETWORK SOFTWAR E KIT, HARD DISK, COMP ACT FLASH DISK, OR ADD ITIONAL MEMORY The same steps are r equired at the beginning and at the end of each installation to prepare the printer and to clo se it.

Align and insert the protrusion at the bottom of the metal cover into the notch of the printer (1), and tighten the two screws on the top of the co ver (2).
28 > INSTALLATION AND RE LOCATION PROCEDURE INSTALLING A N ETWORK SOFTWAR E KIT You can install a network so ftware kit option on this printer. Installin g this option may initialize the s ettin gs of [Network/Port] and [Allocate Memory]. 1. Refer to “Preparing the prin ter” on pag e 26 .

Remove the screws on the rig ht and left sides of the Compact Flash bracket (1 ) and remove th e Compact Flas h disk drive as shown i n the diagr am (2).

32 > INSTALLATION AND RE LOCATION PROCEDURE INSTALLING A C OMPACT FLASH DI SK You can install a Compact Flash disk option (only available in certain regions) to this printer. 1. Refer to “Preparing the prin ter” on pag e 26 . 2. Open the fastener on the Compact Flash disk drive.

34 > INSTALLATION AND RE LOCATION PROCEDURE INSTALLING AD DITIONAL MEMORY The additional memory module for this printer is 512MB. 1. Refer to “Preparing the prin ter” on pag e 26 . 2. Hold the additional memory so that the notch (1) is aligned with the pro trusion on th e slot.
INSTALLATION AND RELOCATION PROCEDURE > 35 INSTALLING THE DRUM -T ONER CARTRIDGE When handli ng the dr um-toner car tridge, take note of the fol lowing points: • Do not subject the drum- toner car tridge to direct sunlight or strong light.
36 > INSTALLATION AND RE LOCATION PROCEDURE • It is recommended to use up the drum-toner cartridge within one yea r of re m ovi ng it from its packaging.

38 > INSTALLATION AND RE LOCATION PROCEDURE CONNECTING AN INTERFACE CABLE Connect the interface cable to b e used to the pr inter. 1. Connect the interface cable to th e interface connecto r at the back of the printer : serial (1), USB (2), networ k (3), parallel (4 ).
