3 Installation 1. T urn off the prin ter ( 1 ). 2. Unplug the power cord ( 2 ). 3. Detach the interface cable from the back of the printer ( 3 ). C6100_1.

5 6. Loosen the thumbscrew holding the printer side cover in place. C6100_4.jpg.
6 7. Lift up on the ends. R e move the side panel from the printer . C6100_5.jpg.
7 8. Locate the slot ( 1 ) on the control board shield. C6100_10.jpg.
8 9. R emove the HDD from its shipping package. 10. Insert the top of th e HDD cage into the slot on the control board shield. C6100_11.jpg.
9 11. Tighten the thumbscrews (1) to secure the HDD. C6100_12.jpg 12. Insert the HDD cable firmly into the connector . C6100_13.jpg.

12 Verify the Installation Print the Me nuMap Note: The MenuMap is a list of the current menu settings. Key p a d .j p g 1. Press + one or more times until INFORMA TION MENU appears on the display . 2. Press E N TER twice. The MenuMap prints. 3. Look at the top of the printout.
13 Change the Driver Sett ing Windows ® Postscript Emulation Driver 1. Click Start → Settings → Printers [Printers and F axes for XP]. 2. Right click the appropriate printer icon. Click Properties. Windows XP, 2000 and NT 4.0 a. Click the Device Settings tab.
14 PCL Driver 1. Click Start → Settings → Printers [Printers and F axes for XP]. 2. Right click the PCL printer i c on. Click Properties. 3. Click the Device Option tab . 4. Click Printer Hard Disk. 5. Click OK. Close the Printers (Printers and F axes) dialog box.
15 Mac OS X to X.1 No activation is required. Mac OS X.2 1. Activ ate Print Center from Local Hard Drive → Applications → Utilities → Print Center . 2. Highlight the p rinter name. Select from the m enu Prin ters → Show Info. 3. Choose Installabl e Options from the drop down menu.
