The CPU that came with the mother - board should have a fan attached to it to prevent overheating. If this is not the case, then purchase a fan before you turn on your system.

Generally , an IRQ must be exclu- sively assigned to one use. In a standard design, there are 16 IRQs available but most of them are already in use, leaving 6 IRQs free for expansion cards.
27 3. HARDW ARE SETUP ASUS CUW(E)-FX User ’ s Manual IMPORT ANT : If using PCI cards on shared slots, make sure that the drivers support “Share IRQ” or that the cards do not need IRQ assignments. Conflicts will arise between the two PCI groups that will make the system unstable or cards inoperable.

This feature turns off the video display and shuts down the hard disk after a period of inactivity . BIOS SETUP Boot Menu Boot Sequence The Boot menu allows you to select among the four possible types of boot devices listed using the up and down arrow keys. By using the <+> or <Space> key , you can promote devices, and by using the <-> key , you can demote devices.

BIOS SETUP Exit Menu Exit Saving Changes Once you are finished making your selections, choose this option from the Exit menu to ensure the values you selected are saved to the CMOS RAM. The CMOS RAM is sustained by an onboard backup battery and stays on even when the PC is turned off.
