I. Installing the NV-MPS4 as Par t of a NuV o Distributed A udio System The NV-MPS4 will fully communica te as a NuV oNet audio component with a few simple connections. Locat e the NV-MPS4 component with the main componen t of the NuV o Distributed Audio System.
If you ar e installing the Music Port Ser ver with a Renovia System, plug the CA T5 direc tly into one of the thr ee “NuV oNet ” inputs on the back panel of the Renovia Source Hub , Fig . 3. USB USB RS232 RS232 ETHERNET Passthrough To NuVo NuVoNet SYSTEM F ig .
RS232 8 Understanding the LAN Error LED The front panel of the NV-MPS4 has a r ed LED designed to aler t you to communication issues acr oss its network, Fig . 5. The state of the LED indicat es the nature of the pr oblem. LED not lit: This indicates good communica tion.
9 F inding the IP Address f or the NV-MPS4 If the “music-port ” name does not connect, you can look up the IP addr ess assigned to the Music Port Ser ver and type that into the br owser address bar , i.e.. 192.168.0.124/config , F ig . 7. F ig . 7 T o find the address, go to the Menu of a Contr ol Pad in the System.
10 III. Setting Up the NV-NV-MPS4 through the Remote Configur ation T ool Once you ha ve opened the Remote C onfiguration T ool, setup of the Music Port Ser ver is easy .
11 Wired E thernet: The default is to let the network automa tically supply an address to the Music P or t Ser ver when is connected through the “Ethernet” por t. If you choose , you can assign a static addr ess using this drop-down menu, Fig . 12.
3 C ontent: Here is wher e you set the streaming capabilities of the Music P or t Ser ver . Supply the user account information in each of the provider sections that apply to the int ended use of the NV-MPS4, Fig . 14. Once this information is en tered , click “Save Changes ” .
13 F irmware: This tab allows y ou to update the firmware , load the computer based Music P or t Client control, and setup music sharing with the Music P or t Ser ver , Fig . 15. F ig . 15 F irmware Update: This download utility will prompt you when a new v ersion is av ailable.
14 IV . Loading and U sing the Music P or t Sync T ool The Music P or t Sync T ool is a power ful application that allows an y user network PC to contribute music t o the Music Port Ser ver hard drive .
