8 Starting y our T ablet Po w er On/ Off / Standb y Mode ON: Pres s and hold the side PO WER button on the side for about 3 sec onds until the logo screen appears, then r elease. OFF: Pres s and hold the side PO WER button until the PO WER OFF window appears, then slide down t o turn off .
9 First time Setup Setup runs the first time y ou turn y our T ablet. During setup you’ll choose a language, color scheme, and name . All of which you can change a t a later time. User and Pass w ord Setup Swipe inw ard a t left edge of display t o call up the Charm Menu.
10 Charging the Batt ery Connect the po wer adapt er to a w all outlet, then to the T ablet as shown. It is rec ommended to fully char ge the battery befor e first use . A battery status indica tor appears in the low er left corner . T ap the battery ic on to vie w perc entage remaining.
11 Battery Car e Opera ting temper ature: Y our T ablet is designed to work betw een 32°F and 95°F (or 0°C to 35°C). Lithium-ion batt eries are sensitiv e to higher temper atures. K eep y our T ablet out of direct sun light and don’t lea v e it in a closed envir onment susceptible to e xtreme temper atur es.
12 Basic Oper ation Lock Scr een and Start Menu First, pr ess the Po wer butt on. Then with y our finger , s wipe up on the touch screen. T he Lock scr een is the starting point and appears when the tablet screen is turned on. Sign in to y our acc ount by typing y our passwor d.
13 Creat e a Microsoft ac c ount It is rec ommended to set up or use an e xisting Micr osoft account f or better enjo yment of Microsoft servic es such as Xbo x, Outlook.c om, OneDrive , Skype, et c. Many apps and ser- vices r ely on the acc ount to sync c ontent and settings acr oss de vices.

16 Apps Menu T o display the menu of all a vailable apps, tap and dr ag y our finger upw ard fr om any where below the S tart Menu tiles until you see the Apps Menu. T ype an app name or scroll to view desir ed apps. T o add one to the Start scr een, tap and hold the desired app f or 2 seconds.
17 Vie w Apps Side by Side T o display tw o apps side-by -side, swipe an open app in war d from the left edge , drag it and hold. Release to one side . A dual screen int erface will appear t o place a sec ond application. T o change one of the apps, go to Start Menu or the Apps vie w and tap on an app.
18 Connecting t o the Internet This T ablet utilizes WiFi 802. 11b/ g/ n networks t o connect with the internet so tha t you may ac cess the w orld wide w eb, send emails, and do wnload apps. (WiFi distanc e may be aff ected b y your surr ounding envir onment and WiFi r outer).
19 Charm Menu Column - Sear ch, Share , Connect, Settings From the right edge of the scr een, swipe y our finger inwar d to bring up the Charm Menu column. Search the files and application pr ogr ams in the T ablet PC. Share the pr ogr am through social media, or email.
20 A dd Skype f or Calls and OneDriv e for A dditional St or age Skype and C ontacts Skype: A dd contacts With Sk ype calls and video chat, you can s tay in t ouch with any one for fr ee. Once y ou’v e added y our friends, you can mak e Skype calls and send ins tant messages.
