26 Chapter 1 Overview 312755-G Rev 00 Central office alarms The central of fice alarm connectors allo w you to aggregate alarms from multiple BIPs and route them to an aisle alarm and to the central off ice. Figure 7 shows three BIPs configured to aggregate alarms from three racks.

The BIP ships from the factory with def ault jumper configurations set for a single chassis in the lo wer shelf of the rack.

These procedur es assume that all requi red po wer supplies were pre viously installed du ring the 8010co chassis installation.

(Po wer supplies reside in ba y 1, bay 2, and bay 3, vie wed left to right from the front of the chassis.

An important point after buying a device Nortel 8010co (or even before the purchase) is to read its user manual. We should do this for several simple reasons:
If you have not bought Nortel 8010co yet, this is a good time to familiarize yourself with the basic data on the product. First of all view first pages of the manual, you can find above. You should find there the most important technical data Nortel 8010co - thus you can check whether the hardware meets your expectations. When delving into next pages of the user manual, Nortel 8010co you will learn all the available features of the product, as well as information on its operation. The information that you get Nortel 8010co will certainly help you make a decision on the purchase.
If you already are a holder of Nortel 8010co, but have not read the manual yet, you should do it for the reasons described above. You will learn then if you properly used the available features, and whether you have not made any mistakes, which can shorten the lifetime Nortel 8010co.
However, one of the most important roles played by the user manual is to help in solving problems with Nortel 8010co. Almost always you will find there Troubleshooting, which are the most frequently occurring failures and malfunctions of the device Nortel 8010co along with tips on how to solve them. Even if you fail to solve the problem, the manual will show you a further procedure – contact to the customer service center or the nearest service center
