4 ABOUT THE HEA T PUMP Y our heat pump is a unique, all weather comf or t- control appliance that will heat and cool your home year round and pro vide energy saving comf or t. It’ s an unknown f act that heat is always in the air , ev en when the outside temperature is below freezing.
5 SYSTEM MAINTENANCE CA UTION: Shut off all electrical power to the unit before perf orming any maintenance or service on the system. Failure to compl y may result in per sonal injury or death.

7 SITE PREP ARA TION Unpacking the Equipment Remov e the shipping car ton and User’ s Manual from the equipment. T ake care not to damage the tubing connections when removing the car ton. Inspect for Dama ge Inspect the equipment f or damage prior to installing the equipment at the job site.
8 • The maximum recommended interconnecting refrigerant line length is 75 f eet, and the vertical ele vation diff erence between the indoor and outdoor sections should not e xceed 20 f eet. • If precise f or ming of refrigerant lines is required, a copper tubing bender is recommended.

11 FUNCTIONAL CHECK OUTS CA UTION: These units have a crankcase heater factory installed. W ait 24 hours prior to performing a function c heck out to allo w for heating of the compressor crankcase. Failure to compl y ma y result in damage and could cause premature failure of the system.

Note : If the Y2 ther mostat input is energized (2 - stage system), the second stage will tur n on. If the abov e steps will not initiate a defrost, replace the defrost board.
