Updating the Device Page Page 4-9 Updating the Device Page The files for the Intr aStack 6000 Series Personality Module are stored within the IntraSpection Application Ser ver’ s database. Occasionally , these files should be updated from the Device P age to ensure that you ar e viewing the IntraStack’ s latest inf or mation.
Management Page 4-10 Viewing Port Parameters Y ou can view inf or mation about each port within an IntraStack s witch- ing system via the PortInfo menu. The PortInfo (P ort Information) menu displays the type of each port as well as the port’ s auto-negotiation status, link status, speed, and duplex mode.

Configuring Port Parameters Page 4-13 Configuring Store-and-Forwarding Store-and-f orwarding is a port’ s ability to store incoming packets befor e forw arding them. T o configure a port’ s store-and-forwar ding a bility: 1 Click PortCtrl . Y ou do not have to select an y por t on the front-panel image.
Management Page 4-14 Enabling or Disabling a Port The enabling or disabling of a port is a manual operation that can be used to isolate networ k devices possibly causing problems on the net- wor k. It can also be used to prev ent unauthor ized use of a port or sta- tion.
Resetting the IntraStack Page 4-15 Resetting the IntraStack Y ou can reset the entire Intr aStack device or a selected group via the Reset menu. T o perform a reset: 1 T o reset the device, do not select anything on the front- panel image. T o reset a group, click once the g roup.
Management Page 4-16 Managing T rap Receivers T rap r eceivers are the network manag ement stations designated to receive tr aps from the IntraStack when they occur . ▲ Important: A maximum of four trap receiv er s is allowed. This section describes how to add and delete a trap receiv er .

Menus Page 5-16 Field Description LocalAbility Read-only field; displays the connecting ability of the local port in the device (what the port is capable of). The information displayed is in hexadecimal format; for example, IE:00 (where “IE” is Byte 1 and “00” is Byte 2).
