4 2 Safe Operation Practices T raining 1. Read, understand, and f ollow all instructions on the machine and in the manual(s) bef ore attempting to assemble and oper ate. K eep this manual in a saf e place f or future and regular ref erence and for ordering replacement par ts.
5 Operation 1 . Do not p ut hand s or feet near rot ating par ts, i n the auger / impe ller hous ing or ch ute assem bly . Co ntact wi th the rotat ing par ts ca n amput ate hands a nd feet. 2. The aug er/ im peller c ontrol l ever is a safety d evice.
6 W ARN ING : Disc onnec t the spa rk plug wire an d ground it ag ainst the e ngine to prevent uni ntende d star ting. P ositioning the Upper Handle 1 . Remove packing m aterial, if present. 2. Raise th e upper handl e in the direc tion shown in Figure 1 unti l it clicks i nto the operatin g position.

9 Operating Tips 1 . Disc harge snow downwin d whenever possible. Slight ly ov erla p each previously c leared path. 2. Lif ting up on th e handle will a llow the rub ber on the augers to pro pel the snow thr ow er for ward. Pushing downward on the ha ndle will rai se the augers of f the ground an d stop forward m otion.
10 Shave Plate 1 . T o chec k the adjustm ent of the shave plate, place the unit on a level sur face. The wheel s, shav e plate and augers sh ould all cont act level surfac e. Note that if the shave plate is adjusted too h igh, snow may blow under the hous ing.
11 Before servicing, repairing, or in spect- ing, disengage the control bail an d stop engine. W ait until all mo ving parts have come to a complete stop. Disc onnect spark plug w ire and ground it a gainst the engine to pre vent unin tended star ting.
12 7 O f f - S e a s o n S t o r a g e Never st ore snow throw er with fuel in tank indoors or in poorly v entilated areas, where fuel fumes ma y reach an open flame, spark or pilot l ight as on a furnace, w ater heater , clothes dryer or gas appliance.

11 Déb ray ez la man ette de command e et arrêtez le moteur avant de faire une répar ation, un aj us - tement qu elconque ou d’ examiner la ma chine.

N’ essayez jamais d’ ef fectuer un réglage quelconque pendant que le moteur t ourne, sauf en cas d’ instructio ns spéciales dans la notice d’ utilisation.
