5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR SNOW THROWER Unpacking • Remove s taples or break glue on the top fla ps of the carton . Remove any loose pa rts in cluded with unit (i.e., Op erator’ s Manual, etc ). • Cut alo ng corners and lay en d of carton do wn flat.
6 Final Adjustments Skid Shoes The spa ce b etween the sha ve plat e and the gr ound can be adj usted. For close s now remova l, plac e skid shoes in the low posi tion.

8 SECTION 4: OPERAT ING YOUR SNOW THROWER Before Starting WARN ING: Read, u nderstan d, and follow all ins tructio ns and warnings on the mach ine and in this manual befor e operatin g. • The spark plug wire was disconnecte d for safety. Attach spa rk plug wire t o spark plug before sta rting.
9 T o Stop Engine • To stop engine, rem ove the ig nition key . Do not turn key. D isconne ct the spar k plug wire from the spark plug to pre vent accide ntal sta rting wh ile equipmen t is unatte nded. To prevent starter freeze-up : • Run engine for a few min utes bef ore stoppi ng to help dry off any moistur e on the engine.
10 • With the tr actio n control released , there must be cleara nce between th e friction wheel and the drive plate in all position s of the shift le ver. • With t raction contro l en gaged, the frict ion wh eel must conta ct the drive pl ate. See Fig ure 9.
