7 SECTION 3: ASSEMBLING YOUR LAWN MOWER T o Remove Unit Fr om Carton • Remove staples, break glue on top flaps, or cut tape at carton end and peel along top flap to open carton. • Rem ove loose parts included with your unit (i.e., operator’s manu al, etc.
8 • Wit h the spark plug wire disconnected and grounded, h old the blade control hand le against th e upper handle , and pull the star ter rope out o f the engine. Release the blade control handle. Slip the starter rope int o the rope guide. Tighten th e wing nut.
9 SECTION 5: OPERATING YOUR LAWN MOWER WARNING: Keep hands and feet away from the chut e area on cutting de ck. The blade will be rotating when ever the engine is running. Be sure no one othe r than the oper ator is standing near the lawn mower wh ile starting the engine or operat ing the mower.
10 SECTION 6: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: Do not at any time make an y adjustment to your la wn mower without first stopping the en gine and disconne cting the spark plug wire. Handle Height Your mower is shipped with t he handle in the higher height posit ion.

Lubrication Blade Control • L ubricate the pivot points on the blade control handle and the br ake cable at least once a season with light oil.
12 Cutting Deck • T he underside of the mower de ck should be cleaned after each use to prevent a build -up of grass clippings, leaves, dir t or other matter. If this debris is allowed to accu mulate, it will invite rust and corrosion, and ma y prevent proper mulching.
