- 2 - Overview Moxa's new AWK - 3131 3 - in - 1 industri al wi reless AP /bridg e/clie nt meets the growing need for faster data transmission speeds and w ider coverage by supporting IEEE 80 2.11n technology with a net data rat e of up t o 300 Mbps.

- 4 - ATTENTION For security reasons, we strongly recommend ch anging the password. To do so, select Maintenance Password , and then follow the on - screen instructions. Step 5: Se lect the operation m ode for th e AWK - 31 31 By default, the AWK - 31 3 1’s operation mode is set to AP.

- 6 - Mounting Dimensions (unit = mm) DIN - Rail Mounting The aluminum DIN - Rail attachmen t plate should be fixed to the back panel of the AWK - 3131 when you take it out of the box.
- 7 - Wall Mounting (optional) For transportation app lications that require a n EN 50155 certification report, we strongly r ecommend the purchase of the optional AWK- 3131 wallmount kit, whic h has passed E N 50155 testing. Th is wallmount kit is also convenient for other a pplications that requ ire mounting the AWK- 3131 to a wall.
- 8 - WARNING • This equipment is intended to be used in a Restrict ed Access Location, such as a ded icated computer room . A ccess can only be gained by SERVICE PERSONS or by USERS who ha ve been instructed about the fact tha t the metal chassis of the equi pment i s extremely hot and m a y cause burns.
- 9 - ATTENTION This product is inte nded to be supplied by a Listed Power Unit marked “ Class 2 ” or “ LPS ” and rated O/P: 12 to 48 V DC , minim um 6 W (12 V to 48V), 25°C .
- 10 - ATTENTION Before connecting the AWK - 3131 to the DC power inputs, mak e sure the DC power source vo ltage is stable. Wiring the Relay Contact The AWK - 3131 has one relay output, wh ich consists of the t wo contacts of the terminal block on the AWK - 3131 ’s top pane l.
- 11 - Communication Con nections 10/100BaseT(X) Ethern et Port Connection The 10/100BaseT(X) ports located on the AWK- 31 31 ’s front panel are used to connect to Ethernet- enabled devices. Below we show pinouts for both MDI (NIC - type) po rts and MDI -X (HUB/Switch - type) ports.
- 12 - NOTE 1. The pin numbers for ma le DB9 and DB25 conne ctors, and hole numbers for fema le DB9 and DB25 con nectors are labeled on the connecto r. However, the number s are typically quite small, so y ou may need to us e a magnifying glass to see the numbers clearl y.

- 1 6 - ATTENTION Use the antennas corr ectly: The 2.4 GHz ante nnas are needed when the AWK - 3131 operates in IEEE 802.11b/ g/ n . The 5 GHz antennas are needed fo r IEEE802.11a /n . Make sure your ante nna installation is within a safety area, which is covered by a lightning protection or surge arr est system.
