1. INTRODUCTION Congratulations! Y our new M&K T ripole ® surround speaker will giv e you years of unmatched enjo yment and e xcitement while listening to your f av orite musical and audio/video .
CS-150 ONL Y The CS-150 speaker can oper ate in two modes: T ripole ® or Dipole. Y ou can select these modes by inser ting or removing a jumper on the back of the speak er . They also can be accessed by using an e xter nal amplifier s witchbox (not a v ailable from M&K).
TRIPOLE ® OR DIPOLE OPERA TION (CS-150 ONL Y) T o operate in the T ripole ® mode, the jumper between the terminals labeled "3" and "4" must be in place. T o operate the speak er in the Dipole mode, the jumper between the terminals labeled "3" and "4" must be remov ed.
Y our Column Surround speaker uses M&Ks proprietar y T r ipole technology to radiate sound into the room at multiple angles. In all models , two side-firing Dipole drivers help to create an en veloping sound quality while a high-quality woof er and tweeter create a more directional sound.

ASSEMBL Y Remov e the contents of the car ton and make sure that y ou hav e all the par ts. F asten the base to the first Column Surround. Y ou will use the 1/4-20" Phillips P an Head screws .
Y ou have tw o sets of mounting locations (4 holes per set). Y ou can use either set of mounting holes on the mounting plate to adjust the location of the speaker depending on the floor co vering and the moulding at the base of the wall. First drill a 1/8" pilot hole to a depth of 1", at a downward angle of 15 degrees .
e. T ripole ® With Adjustable Attenuated Dipole T o adjust the attenuation of the Dipole element, connect the positiv e (+) lead to T er minal 3 and inser t a 5 watt resistor between terminals 3 and 4. The resistor can be any value betw een 2 and 11 ohms.
9. SPEAKER D AMA GE & HO W T O A V OID IT An impor tant factor to consider with an y speaker system is the potential f or speak er damage. Even though your speak ers hav e high power handling ability , they still can be damaged b y relatively lo w powered amplifiers .
12. CABINET MAINTENANCE T reat the cabinet as y ou would any piece of fine furniture. Its painted black or white finish does not require any special maintenance; regular dusting with a lint-free cloth and periodic cleaning is all that is required. Matching paint can be used if necessar y to repair any surf ace damage.
