3 Precautions and notices For your own safety, do not operate the controls of the product while driving. Other wireless devices in the vehicle might inter fere with the reception of satellite signals and cause the reception to be unstable. A window mount is needed when using the recorder in a c ar.
4 Getting to know the recorder Front and rear components 7 6 5 8 9 4 3 2 1 Name Description Camera lens Make sure that no object is blocking the camera lens and no reflective material appears near the lens. Speaker Provides sound alerts. OK/Record key Stops the current recording.
5 Name Description Down key Zooms out of an image. Turns OFF the screen during recordin g. Moves to the next item in a list. Adjusts the value of a setting option. Up key Zooms in to an image. Turns ON the screen during recordin g. Moves to the previous item in a list.
6 Side compon ents 3 4 5 2 1 Name Description Reset switch Restarts the recorder. Mini-USB connector Connects to the charger. Power key When using battery power, press and hold this key to turn ON and OFF the recorder. Toggles through Recording, Camera and Playback mode.
7 Inserting a memory card CAUTION: Do not apply pressure to the centre of the memory card. Note: You are recommended to use Class 6 MicroSD cards. You have to insert a memory ca rd before you can start record ing. The recorder supp orts MicroSD card s with up to 32GB ca pacity.
8 Using your recorder in a vehicle CAUTION: Select an appropriate location for mounting the device in a vehicle. Never place the device where the driver’s field of vision is blocked. DO NOT insert or remove the memory card when operating the recorder.
9 2 2 1 Use cable clips to secure the po wer cord so that it does not in terfere while driving. To ensure the highest quality record ings, you are advised to place the recorder near the rear view mirror.
10 Operating basics Before you begin recording, please take note of the following: DO NOT remove or insert the mem ory card while re cording. When the record in dicator indicates a red light when re cording is in prog ress, the MicroSD card ma y be full or damage d.
11 G-sensor event recording If an event happens, such as sudden impact, high-speed driv ing, an overturn or an accidental crash, t he G sensor will prompt the reco rder to lock and save the reco rding. The locked/saved recordings w ill not be replaced by temporary v ideo clips.
12 Camera mode Use the Power key to toggle to the Camera mode. When ready, press the the OK/Record key to take the photo. Camera settings To change Camera settings, press the Menu key . You can: Change the photo resolution to 1.3M (high quality) or VGA (low qual ity).
13 System SETUP To enter System SETUP, press the Menu key twice (when recording i s not in progress). You can: Format your MicroSD card. Set the language of the recorder. Restore the system settings to factory defaults. Set the frequency to match the flicker fr e quency of the local power supply when recording.
14 Do not subject your dev ice to sudden an d severe temperature changes. This could cause moisture co ndensation insid e the unit, whi ch could damage your d evice. In the event of moisture condensation, allow the de vice to dry out completely before use.
15 Regulatory information Safety precautions About charging Use only the charger supplied with your device. Use of another type of charg er will result in malfunction and/or dang er. This product is int ended to be supplied by a LIST ED Power Unit marked with “LPS”, “Limited Power Source” and output rated + 5 V dc / 1.
16 About the battery Use a specified battery in the equipment. CAUTION: This unit contains a non-replaceable i nternal Lithium Ion battery. The battery can burst or explode, relea sing hazardous che micals. To reduce t he risk of fire or burns, do not disassemble, crush, puncture, or dispose of in fire or water.
