W arning and safet y instructio ns Disposal of an old appliance Before disposing of an old ap- pliance, cu t the cable off the ap- pliance as close to t he housin g as possible. The plug and cord should be disposed of and n ot used e lsewher e in the house (el ectric shock haz ard).

Cleaning and care Before cleaning the extra ctor dis- connect it from the main ele ctrical supply (pull o ut the plug or trip the cir cuit br eaker). Grease fil ter A re-usable metal grease filter is used to remo ve solid particles (oil , dust, etc.) from kitchen va pors, preventing soilin g of the ext ractor fan.

Install ation inst ruction s Remove t he ventilat ion grill and grease filter . Unscr ew the fr ame (2 scr ews) at t he front and remove. Install the extracto r into the cut- out, from below the counter top, s o that the pr otruding fron t edge re sts on the counte rtop.
Exhaust conne ction Please read the ” Warning and Safety In structi ons “ to avoid th e danger of toxic fu mes. The DA-8 extracto r should be in- stalled in accordance with local an d national building regulations.
Exhaust conne ctions V ent connec tion variations In connectio n examples B a nd C, neither the K M 88 nor the KM 89 can be insta lled to the left of th e DA 8, since it will not be possible to place a co ntaine r beneath th e oil drain valve.
Exhaust conne ctions Calculation of exhaust ducting A pipe diameter of 5" s hould ensure trouble-free extraction up to a to tal pipe length of 5.4. meters (17 1/ 2 ft). Determine the tota l pipe leng th as fol- lows: Measure the total len gth of ducting needed.
