W arning and Safety instructions 8 Reliable and safe oper ation of this washing machine can only be assured if it has been connect ed to the mains electricity supply . The electrical safety of this washing machine can only be guar an‐ teed when corr ectly earthed.
W arning and Safety instructions 9 The machine must be isolated fr om the electricity supply when cleaning and maintaining the machine and in the event of a fault. The machine must only be connected t o the on-site water supply using a new hose kit.
W arning and Safety instructions 10 Correct use Do not install the washing machine in a room wher e there is a risk of frost. F ro zen hoses may burst or split. The reliability of the elec‐ tronic contr ol unit may be impaired at t emperatur es below freezing point.
W arning and Safety instructions 11 The maximum load for this washing machine is 7 kg (dry weight). See the "Pr ogr amme chart" for the maximum recommended loads for individual progr ammes. If the correct amount of det ergent is dispensed, the machine should not need to be descaled.
W arning and Safety instructions 12 Colour run and dye removers contain sulphur compounds which can cause damage such as corrosion. Do not use these pr oducts in this machine. If deter gent comes into contact with the eyes, rinse them thor‐ oughly with lukewarm water immediat ely .

Operating the washing machine 14 Display The display shows: – the progr amme duration (time left display) – the progr ammable functions Progr ammable functions The progr ammable functions can be used to tailor washing pr ogrammes to suit your personal requir ements.
Before using for the first time 15 Before using the machine for the first time ensure that it is corr ectly in‐ stalled and connected. See "Installa‐ tion and connection". Also check that the drain filt ers are secur ely tightened to pr event the risk of water leaks during use.
W ashing environmentally and economically 16 Energy and water consumption – Wat er consumption and energy us‐ age are det ermined by the size of the load. T o make the most of your machine, load the maximum dry load for the progr amme you are using.
1. Pr epare the laundry 17 Empty all pockets. F oreign objects (e.g. nails, coins, paper clips, etc.) can cause damage to garments and to components in the machine. Sort the laundry Sort the laundry by colour and by care label. Most garments have a t ex‐ tile care label in the collar or side seam.
2. Select a progr amme 18 Switch on the washing ma‐ chine Pr ess the button. Pr ogramme selection T urn the progr amme selector to the requir ed progr amme. The display shows the estimated pr o‐ gramme dur ation. During the first 10 minutes, the machine measures how much wat er is being ab‐ sorbed by the laundry .
3. L oad the washing machine 19 Open the door Pr ess the Door button to open the door . Unfold the laundry and load loosely into the drum. Mixing both large and small it ems gives better wash r esults and also helps distribute the load evenly during spinning.
4. Select progr amme settings 20 Select an extr a option(s) Each press of the upper butt on selects the extr a options: Soak or Pre-wash or Short or no extr a option. Use the lower button to select the W a‐ ter plus extr a option. Select the extr a option(s) you want.
5. Add detergent 21 It is important to dispense the corr ect amount, because . . . . . . too little deter gent results in: – Laundry not getting properly clean and with time it may become grey and hard t o the touch. – Greasy particles clinging to laundry .
6. Start the progr amme - the end of a programme 22 Start the progr amme. Pr ess the flashing Start button. At the end of a pr ogramme When the progr amme has finished the Anti-crease/Finish indicator light will light up in the progr amme sequence display and an 0 will appear in the dis‐ play .
Extra options 23 Y ou can use the e xtra options buttons to augment the wash pr ogrammes. Short Use this option for light soiling with no visible staining. The wash duration is r educed. Pr e-wash F or laundr y with large amounts of dirt, e.g. dust and sand.

Changing the progr amme sequence 31 Cancelling a pro gramme Y ou can cancel a pr ogramme at any time after it has started: T urn the progr amme selector to Fin‐ ish . The water will dr ain away . The pro‐ gramme is cancelled as soon as the Anti-crease/Finish indicator light comes on and appears in the display .

Detergent 33 The correct detergent All deter gents produced for automatic washing machines are suitable. F ollow the manufacturer's instructions and dosage recommendations on the pack‐ aging.

Detergent 36 Dispensing fabric conditioner and liquid starch at the end of the progr amme Add the fabric conditioner or liquid starch t o the compartment. Do not ex ceed the maximum level mark. The agent will be automatically dis‐ pensed in the last rinse.
Cleaning and care 37 Cleaning the drum Washing at low t emperatures and/or using liquid deter gent can cause bacte‐ ria and unpleasant odours to build up in the washing machine.
Cleaning and care 38 Cleaning the siphon 1. Remove the siphon from the compartment and rinse under hot running water . Clean the siphon tube at the same time.
Cleaning and care 39 Cleaning the water inlet filters The washing machine has two filters to prot ect the water inlet valve. These fil‐ ters should be checked every six months or so, or more oft en if there are frequent int erruptions to the water sup‐ ply .

They do not remove fruit, coffee and t ea stains. Use a general purpose powder det ergent contain‐ ing a bleaching agent.

The washing machine is not connected to the electri‐ cal supply and / or is not switched on. Insert the plug in the socket and switch on and / or switch the machine on with the button.

The drain hose must not be kink ed as this restricts dr ainage. The swivel elbow at the end of the hose can be turned in ei‐ ther direction, or can be detached if r e‐ quired, with a sharp twist and pull.

Pr ogrammable functions 62 The progr ammable functions are used to alter the machine's electr onics to suit changing requir ements. Pr ogram‐ mable functions can be alter ed at any time. W ater plus system This progr ammable function is used to specify one of three options for the the Water plus butt on.
Pr ogrammable functions 63 Gentle action Activating gentle action reduces the drum action and is suitable for wash‐ ing lightly soiled items mor e gently . Gentle action can be activated for the Cottons and Minimum ir on pro‐ grammes. The washing machine is delivered with the Gentle action setting deactivated.
Pr ogrammable functions 64 Suds cooling When this is activated, additional wa‐ ter flows into the drum at the end of the main wash to cool the suds down. Hot suds can damage plastic drainage pipes. Suds cooling takes place when a tem‐ peratur e of 90°C or higher is selected for the Cottons pr ogramme.
Pr ogrammable functions 65 Memory If an extr a option is selected for a pr o‐ gramme and / or the spin speed is al‐ ter ed, the washing machine stores these changes in memory at the start of a progr amme.
