IMPORT ANT SAFETY INS TRUC TIONS 12 Preparing your appliance for an e xtended vacation ʊ If you elect to turn off the wat er to your home for an e xt ended period of time, please note that this may not be enough t o r educe the risk of a leak. T o be completely safe, you must turn off the water supply to each individual appliance.
Notes on installation 13 Model numbers A list of the ovens described in these oper ating instructions can be found on the back page. Data plate The data plate is behind the t oe-kick. The toe-kick cover is attached t o the base of the r ange by magnets so it can be removed and put back again easily .
Notes on installation 14 T oe-kick and drop guard 30" and 36" range The components are locat ed in the packaging of the r ange. 48" range The components are alr eady mounted. Installation of the toe-kick The toe-kick has sheet metal lugs and magnets by means of which it can be positioned and attached to the base of the r ange.
Notes on installation 15 Assembling the grill ɘ Burn hazard! The burners must be turned off and allowed to cool complet ely . ɘ Risk of injury! The cast-iron grill is heav y . Carry the grill car efully and place it securely on a soft base so that it lies flat.
Notes on installation 16 Optional accessories All accessories and cleaning products listed in these instructions ar e designed to be used with the Miele r ange. These can be order ed fr om the Miele website (see end of this booklet for contact details).
Notes on installation 17 1 23 & Backguard ' Rear panel backguard ( Inside panel ĺ Place the backguard Ȧ face down on a soft surface to avoid scr atching. The lower edge should line up with the edge of the table, so that the backguard lies flat.
Notes on installation 18 ĺ Once the backguard is placed on the r ange push the backguard backwards. ĺ Mount the inner panel and the rear panel on the backguard using the screws pr ovided. ĺ Mount the backguard on the r ange using the screws pr ovided.
Notes on installation 19 RBS Backsplash The backsplash is intended for mounting to a Miele r ange hood. Observe the installation instructions of the Miele r ange hood. XKM 3000 W Remote Vision Depending on the model, the r ange maybe compatible with RemoteVision TM .
Notes on installation 20 Do not carry or lift the range by the oven door handle or the contr ol panel! The r ange is heavy . Due to the siz e and weight of the appliance, installation should be performed by two people. The net weight of the r ange with accessories is as follows: Model Width Net weight incl.
Notes on installation 21 Installation location This appliance is not intended for outdoor use. Ranges with a connection to the wat er supply should not be installed in rooms where ther e is a risk of fr eezing temper atur es. The floor of the space where the appliance is t o be installed must be flat, level and made of a strong, rigid mat erial.

Anti-tip device 72 Before installation ɘ WARNING Children and adults can tip over the r ange if has not been secured. This may lead to fatal injuries. Make sure that the anti-tip device is properly installed and locked int o place. It should be screwed t o the floor or wall and engage with the center of the bott om of the range.
Anti-tip device 73 Checking the installation space Install the anti-tip device on the floor , concret e wall or timber fr aming. The surface must be flat and level. ĺ Check the base surface. ĺ Check the installation dimensions. ĺ Check the diagr ams for the building's supply lines.

Anti-tip device 76 Complete all necessary connections for the range. Read the information in the "Electrical connection", "Gas connection" and "Plumbing" sections. The range can be damaged if it is lifted using the cover , the trim or the door handle.
Anti-tip device 77 In the r ange housing, there is an opening Ȧ for the bolt ȧ of the anti-tip device. The opening allows the r ange to be slid onto the anti-tip device and back to the wall. The locking clamp Ȩ must noticeably engage with the bolt ȧ so that anti-tip prot ection is ensured for the r ange.
Electrical connection 78 ɘ CA UTION: During installation, maintenance and repair work, the r ange must be disconnected fr om the electricity supply . It is only completely isolated from the electrici.

Electrical connection 80 This appliance must be grounded in compliance with all applicable local and natio nal regulations. Installation, repair and maint enance work should only be performed by a Mie.
Plumbing 81 Notes on connecting to the water supply Disconnect the appliance from the electrical power supply before connecting the water line. T urn off the water supply befor e connecting the water lines for the r ange.
Plumbing 82 Attach the stainless steel hose to the range. Make sure that the stainless st eel hose is not kinked or damaged. The stainless steel hose must not be shortened. ĺ Remove the cover from the wat er supply connection at the back of the r ange.
Gas connection 83 ɘ Connection to the gas supply and any switchover to a differ ent gas type may only be performed by a duly authorized gas company technician. This t echnician is responsible for pr oper function at the installation site. In Massachusetts installation must be performed by a licensed plumber/gas fitter .
Gas connection 84 The gas connection must be established only Miele-authorized specialists according t o the local and following regulations: National F uel Gas Code ANSI Z 21.1 / NFP A No. 54 for the United Stat es or the current C an / CGA B 149.1 and 2 Installation Codes of Gas Appliances for Canada.
Converting to another gas type 85 The gas connection of the r ange depends upon the model of the range. If the r ange is not configured for the pr oper type of gas connection please contact your Miele dealer . If the r ange has to be converted over t o another gas type, all jets must be ex changed.
