99-8711 DA SH DISASSEMBL Y MERCEDES C-CLASS 2001-2004 A B 1 D isconnect the negative battery ter- minal to prevent an accidental short circuit. 1 Unclip shifter trim (with gear indica- tors). 2 Unclip and remove center console trim panel. (Figure A) 3 Repeat steps 5 and 6 for the other vent and remove vent assembly .
2 99-8711 DA SH DISASSEMBL Y B A C D MERCEDES CLK 2004 Loosen shifter boot and pull up over shifter handle . (Figure A) 2 T urn the retainer on the shifter 1/2 turn to remove shifter handle and boot. (Figure B) 3 Unclip and remove the shifter trim panel.
3 99-8711 KIT ASSEMBL Y B A DIN MOUNT RADIO PROVISION Slide the aftermarket radio into the cage until it snaps into place . (Figure B) 2 Slide the pocket into the radio housing until it snaps into place . (Figure B) 3 Continue to final assembly . * Note: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio.

(Figure B) 2 Continue to final assembly . * Note: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio. Slide the DIN cages into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs outward.
