99-7861 1 Disconnect the negative batter y terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. 1 Using a small flat blade screwdriver remove the blank plate from upper right side of radio trim panel. (Figure A) 2 HOND A PILOT 2003-2008 Unsnap radio trim panel.
99-7861 2 Disconnect the negative batter y terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. 1 Remove (2) screws from the top of the instrument panel trim. Unclip and remove the instru- ment panel trim. (Figure A) 2 HOND A PILOT 2006-2008 (Without Factory Navigation) Unclip and remove the left center trim panel.
3 99-7861 Select the proper radio housing for your vehicle . EX models use radio housing (E) and LX models use radio housing (L). The radio housings are labeled on one of the mounting tabs. (Figure A) 1 Mount the pocket to the back of the radio housing with the (2) #8x3/8” phillips pan head screws supplied.
4 99-7861 KIT ASSEMBL Y Slide DIN cage (supplied with radio) into the assembled radio housing from the front. (Figure A) 1 Secure DIN cage to radio housing b y bending the locking tabs outw ard. (Figure A) 2 Slide the radio into the DIN cage until it snaps into place .
5 99-7861 KIT ASSEMBL Y Align the holes in the ISO brackets with the holes in the radio . Mount the brackets to the r adio using screws supplied with the radio . (Figure A) 1 Slide the radio/brack et assembly into the assembled radio housing until it snaps into place .
6 99-7861 FINAL ASSEMBL Y FINAL A SSEMBL Y 1 Locate the factor y wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter and making connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to pr event electrical short circuit.
